Locking the instructor profile so that you cannot delete it
In the old system, we were never included with the students, and in this system, I just click the check box for select all and hit delete.....then I noticed that my name was in there, but by that time, it was too late.
Maybe the instructor can be a locked person so that they do not delete themselves. Because if you are not paying close attention...which I was not...it is pretty easy to do.

Course Analytics
Analytics feature from canvas added here, so instructur can easily track how far student learn the course, what's course that student didn't understand, etc...

Hidden sections are still showing through "All pages" link
Using navigation tab to hide some sections seems to work, but the hidden sections can be access using the menu at the right "All pages"

Names of cities in Bulgaria
During the account registration or migration in the netacad.com after choosing country Bulgaria the list with the states and cities is totally wrong.
In Bulgaria there are no states. Instead of this all our major cities are listed as states.
After choosing one of them (i.e. Sofia - the capital) the user have to choose an item from the city field and there are lots of duplicate, small and even monastry places.
I have reported this issue to the beta team and unfortunately the problem still exists.If required I can try to find the official list with the names…

enrolment
I think eligible students option is must have feature. Now I can add new user and enroll him to 3 semmester. Another reason is related to different CCNA programs. I have student who change academy and he was learning by discovery program, after I wanted to enroll him to 4 semester i couldn t do that because he must pass 2 and 3 semester by Exploration program. I didn t know that without on line help, on this way I can enroll him straigth to 4 semester.
1 voteThanks for the suggestion Goran. The system doesn’t require the completion of prerequisites to enroll a student. We leave that choice and flexibility to the instructor to decide.

Helping students get new informations on NetSpace
This is our local learning tool based on claroline, that use a red point to indicate to user (instructor or students) where he could found new informations (posts, files add, announcements, etc...).
I think that it would be great if students could have this navigation option on Netspace.

foreign language
do not show foreign language resources. that is to much for us to skim over looking for english resources.

Anlagen eines neuen Discovery2-Kurses
Hallo.
1. Ich möchte einen neuen Discovery2-Kurs mit dem neuen Curriculum in Deutsch anlegen. Deutsch wird mir als Sprache allerdings nicht angeboten.- Kann ich eventuell das Curriculum meiner laufenden Kurse, die noch in Englisch laufen, in das deutsche Curriculum ändern?

Thanks for comments. If I understand correctly your are asking:1. I would like a new Discovery 2 Course created with the new curriculum in German. German is not available as an language option to me.
2. Can I change the curriculum of my currently running class, which is currently in English, to the German curriculum?We will pass your request for a Discovery 2 Course in German along to the product manager for that curriculum.
Unfortunately, course language is set at the time the course is setup and cannot be changed during the course.

Contacting the Helpdesk
It seems that we can only contact the Helpdesk in NetSpace by submitting a ticket, the realtime Chat function is not available. Or is it accessible another way?

Test questions
I thought instructors were going to be able to add test questions to assessments. I am teaching in a high school and would like to test on more than 24 questions. Was I just imagining this? lol
1 voteMichael, you can’t add a question to one of the chapter exams but can create your own “quiz” and add as many questions as you would like. Hope that helps.

Website Speed
Speed to the website is much slower than the previous cisco academy. It can take up to 30-35 seconds just to get to the start screen. I have tried on multiple networks with high speed internet. Assessments will be a real problem if this continues

•Streamlining DataBase queries.
•Streaming assets like images, PDFs and large downloadable content directly from the cloud.
•Enabling caching on the loading of some non-time-sensitive data.Please also help us get the word out to other instructors that Cisco NetSpace site functionality and site performance works best when users use the two current versions of the following supported web browsers:

I need a clear idea about Quizzes?.
1) Whether the students can see the quizzes before publishing it separately?.
2) Whether we can use this for grading purpose?.
3) Whether it can be synchronized with Assessment percentage?.If it is there already, please let me know.
Otherwise it will be great if we synchronize it with Assessment grading to reduce the malpractices in other exams.
1 vote1) No, students cannot see the quiz until you publish it. You can also “lock” the quiz until a certain date. If you publish and lock, students will be able to see the link when you publish but won’t be able to access it until after the lock until date.
2) Yes, you can use quizzes for grading purposes. It is up to you.
3) Not sure I completely understand the question, but you can add a quiz to the chapter exams “group.” Weighting for grades is established by group so the quiz would be included in the grading with the assessments.

canvas features to add
After a week of class there are a few additions I'd like to see on the NetSpace site.
- Ability to add other calendar feeds to the one in Canvas
- this would make adding events and linking to the school calendar much easier
- Include the Chat Function of Canvas
- students are asking for this, I don't see a way to add an IRC program on my own to my class site
- Include the Collaborations function of Canvas
- would make integration of team projects and collaboration easier, more efficient and seamless
- And to help make student success much better, include the Conferences…

Hide Columns in 'New Gradebook'
The old gradebook view has a 'Hide Column' option for each column, it doesnt work, however the New gradebook doesnt have this option at all. It would be nice to hide some columns using both New or Old gradebook.
17 votesThank you for your feedback. Currently hide column function is not on our roadmap. However you could use Mute an Assignment by clicking on the Column drop-down in the Gradebook or Hide Student Names by clicking the Gear icon. Please see the link http://screencast.com/t/qVQL8LOvkRXy .

import classes
It'd be real nice if there were a way to import an entire course from cisco.netacad.net into the new netspace.
2 votesDavid, thanks for the suggestion. It would be nice, but is not currently in our plans. We are, however, working on a simpler way for Instructors to select their students from Academy Connection that we hope will ease the process.

Files from File Sharing of CNAMS are not available in Netspace
All former files from Netacad File Sharing are no longer accessible. I would like to have them imported into Netspace.
