Add CCNA Security Packet Tracer activity files to student resources
In CCNA Security 1.1, the curriculum index does not provide access to packet tracer activities or lab files. Under student resources, the students can download and/or view a pdf of the packet tracer; however, there are no PT activity files for students to download and use.
1 voteHi Katherine,
The zip file of PT files can be found here:
The file is in the All Resources area under Offerings. It is only available for non-student users. Instructors will need to download it and use it as they see fit.
Thank you!

Course Analytics
Analytics feature from canvas added here, so instructur can easily track how far student learn the course, what's course that student didn't understand, etc...
1 voteIrsandi, thanks for bringing up the course analytics feature in Canvas. They should be fully functional for your courses. Please let us know if they are not.
Thanks!

Hiding some of the predefined items from the syllabus
The syllabus has a predefined items and those items include all the possible exams in the course but there are some courses where you don't want to use those exams. I would like to have the option to customize the syllabus so it includes only the items that are going to be graded in the class.
3 votesAdriana, You might want to check out the “Modules” functionality in Canvas. You can set up modules of activities that students need to complete before moving to the next module. You don’t need to include all the exams in modules—just the ones you want. It provides another view that might be helpful for what you are trying to do. To access modules just click on the modules tab in the left column. Hope that helps!

Helping students get new informations on NetSpace
This is our local learning tool based on claroline, that use a red point to indicate to user (instructor or students) where he could found new informations (posts, files add, announcements, etc...).
I think that it would be great if students could have this navigation option on Netspace.

Be able to move between exams in the instructor assessment viewer without needing to go back into Netspace
Enable instructors to switch between assessments once the instructor has entered the assessment system. Just like there is a drop down menu for language and subscore in the Student Performance Summary, it would be nice if the Assessment was also a dropdown menu.
I am reviewing the results of recent exams. I would like to move between exams.1 vote -
Contacting the Helpdesk
It seems that we can only contact the Helpdesk in NetSpace by submitting a ticket, the realtime Chat function is not available. Or is it accessible another way?

Aubrey, you can access Live Chat to the support desk by using the Contact Support option in the Help menu on the NetSpace Home page or on the Support page under Communities.

I need a clear idea about Quizzes?.
1) Whether the students can see the quizzes before publishing it separately?.
2) Whether we can use this for grading purpose?.
3) Whether it can be synchronized with Assessment percentage?.If it is there already, please let me know.
Otherwise it will be great if we synchronize it with Assessment grading to reduce the malpractices in other exams.
1 vote1) No, students cannot see the quiz until you publish it. You can also “lock” the quiz until a certain date. If you publish and lock, students will be able to see the link when you publish but won’t be able to access it until after the lock until date.
2) Yes, you can use quizzes for grading purposes. It is up to you.
3) Not sure I completely understand the question, but you can add a quiz to the chapter exams “group.” Weighting for grades is established by group so the quiz would be included in the grading with the assessments.
Hope that helps!

Locking the instructor profile so that you cannot delete it
In the old system, we were never included with the students, and in this system, I just click the check box for select all and hit delete.....then I noticed that my name was in there, but by that time, it was too late.
Maybe the instructor can be a locked person so that they do not delete themselves. Because if you are not paying close attention...which I was not...it is pretty easy to do.

import classes
It'd be real nice if there were a way to import an entire course from cisco.netacad.net into the new netspace.
2 votesDavid, thanks for the suggestion. It would be nice, but is not currently in our plans. We are, however, working on a simpler way for Instructors to select their students from Academy Connection that we hope will ease the process.

Moving to next assignment in Speed Grader was easier
Pressing the Enter after entering a grade would move to the next student's submission or at least move the "next" button closer to where the grade is entered.

Names of cities in Bulgaria
During the account registration or migration in the netacad.com after choosing country Bulgaria the list with the states and cities is totally wrong.
In Bulgaria there are no states. Instead of this all our major cities are listed as states.
After choosing one of them (i.e. Sofia - the capital) the user have to choose an item from the city field and there are lots of duplicate, small and even monastry places.
I have reported this issue to the beta team and unfortunately the problem still exists. If required I can try to find the official list with the names…

I could enroll eligible students without having to manually enter them.
In the old system, I can see all existing students in the academy and enroll them in a course based on their eligibility (passed a previous required course for example).

Thanks Lisa, however Cisco NetSpace does not require pre requisites. Teachers now can determine if a student is eligible to take the course.

enrolment
I think eligible students option is must have feature. Now I can add new user and enroll him to 3 semmester. Another reason is related to different CCNA programs. I have student who change academy and he was learning by discovery program, after I wanted to enroll him to 4 semester i couldn t do that because he must pass 2 and 3 semester by Exploration program. I didn t know that without on line help, on this way I can enroll him straigth to 4 semester.
1 voteThanks for the suggestion Goran. The system doesn’t require the completion of prerequisites to enroll a student. We leave that choice and flexibility to the instructor to decide.

Files area cleaned up
It would be better if students wouldn't see all the extra stuff in the files area. Only a student resources folder is needed to be visible to them.
1 voteThanks Charles, we are trying to clean up that area now. Should be cleaned up shortly.

foreign language
do not show foreign language resources. that is to much for us to skim over looking for english resources.
Simply create a language selection for resources.1 vote -
Posting assignments on the calendar was easier
It seems that users can either setup an assignment within the assignment tab or the calendar. It would be nice if one would setup an assignment withing the assignment link it would automatically send it to the calendar. it would also be nice if the calendar would allow for a comment in the calendar when the assignment is assigned and when it is due.
8 votesBruce,
When creating an assignment from the assignments page in Canvas, it is automatically added to the Calendar on the date you enter. If you don’t set a date on the assignment you can still see it on the calendar view by clicking on the “undated events” link on the right pane of the Calendar. You can then drag it on to the calendar.
If you are not seeing the assignments from your course on the calendar make sure the course calendar is checked “on” in the right pane. Moving an item around on the calendar automatically updates the dates on the assignment tab and vice versa.Items show on the calendar on their due date. Let me know if I misunderstood your suggestion.
Thanks!
