Better Course PowerPoints
The PowerPoints for the courses I've taught so far (or will teach in the Fall) are truly awful! I have spent hours upon hours editing them so that they are usable in a classroom setting. There are way too many words on each slide. The typestyle is too small to be seen in a normal classroom setting. If I want to print in "outline" form so my students can take notes that way, many of the text boxes don't appear and I have to delete and recreate them so they show up. I'm attaching what I've done to edit the…
18 votesArchived · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for your feedback. The PowerPoints are provided as a resource for instructors to use however best fits their teaching style. We provide a baseline of content and if instructors like them how they are they can use them as is. If they do not work as is, we encourage instructors to edit the content and make them their own. The slides are often created by long term NetAcad instructors so that we can tap into their many years of teaching experience to create this resource. We realize that whatever is created will not work for all 28,000 instructors globally.

All vocabulary words should be in quizlets.
I am at the end of Unit 1 in IT Essentials. Only a very small subset of the vocabulary words were reviewed. Not good. I want all of them.

be able to assign due dates to labs and PT within the curriculum
I would like to be able to assign due dates to the packet tracers and labs that are in the curriculum as assignments. Right now I have to upload the labs and PT into the file storage and create my own assignment. As they are already in the curriculum in the chapter they are associated with. Why not have those as assignments.

HTML5 versions of the Cisco Virtual Desktop/Laptop Simulators
With the remote learning that is going on for the forseeable future, our IT Essentials students would benefit greatly from these updated products. There are not many options for students that don't have the resources to purchase real components to build a computer with.

Syntax Checker
I would like to require students to complete the Syntax Checker activities during class and I go around check them. Is there a way to make a message appear after a Syntax Checker is completed indicated whether the student clicked the "Show" or "Show All" button? This would indicate they didn't actual complete it on their own.

Fix Course Templates
As a teacher, I teach the CCNA curriculum in 2 different ways.
1) In the HS, I teach the CCNA 1, 2 & 3 as separate courses.
2) In the College, I teach CCNA 1 & half of 2 as once course and the second half of CCNA 2 & CCNA 3 as another course. You need to create the links to exams in such a way that we can create our own course templates without breaking the link to the exam. I need to add content from book 2 into my first semester class along with all of CCNA…

PT Passwords should be in netacad, not in the community forum
An instructor asked where the password for PT activities for IT-E was, and I didn't know. Turns out it is in the Community Forum, but you have to search for it.
This seems a bit weird. Why would the community have the password? It seems to me it should be where instructors can easily access it.thanks so much

7 votesThanks for the feedback. The passwords are in the instructor PPTs and in the community forum. No plans to change this at this time.

Project Management Course
I would like to recommend that Cisco create a project management course. You could add this to your Business course offerings and it would benefit us all.

Reinstate the build-a-switch-and-router-network.pksz Tutorial
The tutorial PT file build-a-switch-and-router-network.pksz was in CCNA1 version 7.01, but seems to have not been included in the version 7.02 curriculum. I enjoyed using this in class for students to practice basic configuration skills.

Activities from CCNAv6.0
Many of the interactive activities that enabled students to verify their understanding that were included in CCNAv6.0 were not added to the CCNAv7.0 courses. These are extremely helpful to instructors and students. Please consider adding. Attached is an example from ITNv6.0 that should be added to ITNv7.0 module 3.3.
5 votesArchived · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the suggestion. We will keep this in mind for future versions of the curriculum. We are not able to add any additional interactive activities at this time. Please keep in mind we have added more into the curriculum to allow students to check their understanding.

Why Get Rid of the Single Course Content?
Why was course content broken down into groups of modules? I assign a module a week. I would like to be able to a) have one link to course content, or b) have a link to each module instead of a group of 2 or 3 modules. This will be confusing and frustrating to students.
I group Module 1 and all Module 1 assignments together. The same with Modules 2 and 3. Then I give the Module Group Exam after they have completed all modules in the group.
You can see the examples in the New Course (Nope) and the…

Allow for Extra Credit Assignments
In the legacy LMS, we could set the point value for an assignment to 0, which allowed creating optional, extra credit assignments. The new LMS requires a minimum point value of 1, which detracts from creating extra credit assignments.
Please change to allow setting point value of 0 when the instructor wants to create an entirely optional assignment that has no affect on student overall grade calculation of not completed/submitted.5 votesArchived · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for posting to Share Idea. We will be adding some new FAQs later this week on the Gradebook. One of these FAQs will be about extra credit for assignments.

Make Powerpoints accessible
The PowerPoints need to be made accessible in each class so we can use them. Violation of ADA if we use as they are. Mainly they need alt text on graphics items

Export Grade book feedback to students
The Cisco Networking Academy at River Valley Community College uses the new Cisco Moodle platform and it works really well.
There are a few improvements that we have found as instructors that would help speed up the instructor response to students.
As far as meeting Federal Guidelines with Hybrid and Asynchronous courses we need to show our interaction with students on the weeks that they do not meet face-to-face with the instructor(s).
I provide feedback to the students when I am grading their assignments within the Cisco Moodle platform. Our college uses Canvas for all of our courses and I…

filing bugreports should be easier
1.
Filing a bugreport against a curriculum is too cumbersome. You have to take these steps:
a. Go to the ? Icon
b. Click "NetAcad Support"
c. Go through the chat bot? I do not want to talk to a robot first. Then, you will be asked if your question was answered, and if you say "no" you should get a link to "contact the Support Desk"
d. Fill out the subject and description above the live chat button, and click "Create Ticket". But you cannot immediately add a screenshot/picture/attachment?2.
You could also email at netacadsupport@netacad.com, should you…4 votesThanks for your suggestion. We will keep your idea for future implementation.
