Allow for Extra Credit Assignments
In the legacy LMS, we could set the point value for an assignment to 0, which allowed creating optional, extra credit assignments. The new LMS requires a minimum point value of 1, which detracts from creating extra credit assignments.
Please change to allow setting point value of 0 when the instructor wants to create an entirely optional assignment that has no affect on student overall grade calculation of not completed/submitted.

Thank you for posting to Share Idea. We will be adding some new FAQs later this week on the Gradebook. One of these FAQs will be about extra credit for assignments.

I'm not sure I understand the issue. While the assignment may need to have a point value of at least 1, it doesn't mean that the grade book will take it into account for the overall grade. For example, the grade book is pre-configured so that practice exams don't count towards a students overall grade.
It is also possible to change the value of 1 to something like "completed" in the grade book itself (so in the backend it's technically still a score of 1, but the student will just see "completed" in their view).
