  1. To break the stupid passwords limitations

I work in this branch more than 30 years, but only once I saw more stupid rules for passwords. Why the password cannot start by a digit? Why I can use just alphanumeric chars? Do you understand that such rules force people to choose passwords like Name1234? The company feeling itself on the top of IT area should have quite different approach to this case...

  2. Fully name the SBA files so they can be efficiently found

The SBA files are ALL listed as "Skills Based Exam", but the user has to click each file, wait for it to open and then check to see if it is the correct exam needed. Adding the course name to the file name would be extremely helpful.

  3. It is very nice if you plan to migrate the class history of netAcad to netSpace by import feature because we may need the history

It is very nice if you plan to migrate the class history of netAcad to netSpace by import feature because we may need the history and associated information. Additionally, we might want to download certificate of students some year latter.

Hello and thank you for your feedback. Here is the data available in Academy Connection for download:

    Class name and duration
    Usernames
Assessment and course results (pass, fail, or incomplete)

How to Download Data from Academy Connection:
    1. Log into Academy Connection.
    2. Click Administrator Home or Instructor Home in the upper left menu.
    3. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Download Class History.

Data for classes that are updated after the Class History Report is generated must be downloaded and saved individually, as they will not be included in the Class History Report.

Please have all of your classes completed by June 30, 2013. If you have additional questions, please let me know.

  4. Announcement

Perhaps is a good idea to send by mail a new announcement or reply to it. I do some communicatios by announcement and I need to log into the course and check news in place of receiving notifications by mail. Thanks.

  8. Single download of Academy Connection content

I believe it would be helpful for instructors who have taught many classes to be provided a single (or at least far fewer than currenlty) download of their Academy Connection content.

A script that would download all of the rosters and gradebooks to at least a .csv file would save instructors significant time and energy.

Please share if there is currently a better way than going to each class and click click save click click click. :)

Thank you in advance. We have until June 30th.

  9. An open question to feedback forms

Would it be possible to add an "open question" to feedback forms and give some space for students to write down their opinions?

  10. Make "Delete" button of Assignment Group inactive when are read-only Assignments (class defaults) inside group

The "Delete" button must be active only when inside group are instructor-defined assignments with delete rights.
When deleting for example the assignment group "Access Course Content" it also deletes the Assignment "Launch the CCNA Exploration... course" (even that the assignment is not removable/editable) from inside group and brokes the functionality of "Launch course" from the course home page which further returns "Page error". And there is no way to reset course settings to defaults or to restore only that assignment.

A temporary workaround was to create a temporary class and copy that link to external tool in a new defined…

  11. SUBSTANTIALLY improve efficiency of site

The new netacad.com academy evolution netspace site has created HOURS of new work for me as an instructor, with ZERO additional educational benefit for the student.

The site is not secure, as it passes students email address, grades, and answers to exam questions in clear text over the public internet. This does not allow proper protection of student grades under US FERPA laws, as we teach students in the CCNA curriculum how to capture clear text web data using Wireshark. PLUS we have to teach students that it is OK to click past a security error warning in a website.…

  12. Simpler method for instructors to take exams or Skill Based Assessments

If I want to simulate the student experience for taking an assessment, it is not clear how to do that. It should be easy for me to take the same exam or SBA that the students will take in my class so that I can prepare them properly.

    Hi Keith,
When in your course, you can go to Settings and click on the Student View. There is also the Assessment Viewer – go to the Exam, click on Load Activity in a new window and the Assessment Viewer is on the right hand side (opposite default/advanced activation). Both of these are for you to view what the student sees. Maybe the best option for you would be to enroll yourself in the course as a “test” student. This will allow you to take the exams. I hope this helps!

  13. Cisco Netspace institution must work with the main objective to decentralize the system in several continents.

on a general level, I ask this new platform to be in direct contact with any person forming part of the institution to establish a comparison between the different partners in terms of their assumptions

Just to check what links and other stuff they could see and what does not.

    Hi Laura,
Good news, the Student View link is available! Click on Settings while in your course and the Student View button is located at the top right. In addition, you can also enroll yourself in the course as a “test” student. I hope this helps!

  16. Simplify user enrollment

Why not enable user enrollment from inside the specific Course -> USer Management? Seems much more intuitive than the way things are now.

    Hello,
Good news! Many parts are in the new ITE and CCNA R&S curricula: text, media, labs, quizzes, classroom tools, etc. are accessilbe for iOS devices. At this time, Packet Tracer and PT in assessments and PT-based games are not. Also, older flash-based curricula are not available.
    Thank you!

  20. Lock the submit button in assessments until all the questions have been done/seen/looked at.

Two students managed to get 0 in Skills Review Exam, we think because they clicked in the wrong place!

What they are doing is clicking on the Submit button to move onto the next question...

I do think that it's a bit of bad designing having that available before all the questions have been answered...
