1. Remove need to sign in for each/every use of Packet Tracer 7.2

   Since Packet Tracer 7.2 has appeared - two issues have occurred

   Every time a student in a class room logs into a computer, they have to log into PT. Reducing teaching time and adding admin load to frustrated teachers. Also - we are trying to work with orgs who wish to use PT for U13 students - we are having to encourage them to use a generic login and work around this new feature.

   For Mac - this screen is now causing many WINE bottlers to crash. We have students and academies who use PT and now have to use a VM - which is slower and more resource intensive.

   While we acknowledge that there is a desire from Cisco to record metrics. Can this not be accomplished anonymously. As you are now encouraging all academies to create workarounds and lose limited teaching time and irritate a considerable number of teachers.

   The Packet Tracer team has worked on the login process. They are trying to get PT to a place where users that are already logged into Cisco NetAcad will not have to login again. In addition, they have changed the process for Packet Tracer assessment so users will not have to login to Packet Tracer when doing a Packet Tracer assessment.

4. Allow ASC's to Create Courses and Cascade to their Academies (and everyone)

   Often different ASC's work with different educational stakeholders and have proven capability in creating Canvas (or other VLE/MOOC) courses. Where their community would like access and to be able to teach these as supporting content for their students.

   Please consider offering a cascade option for courses created by ASC's with proven experience.

6. Implement CCIE R & S experimental course based on certification topics.

   Implement the CCIE R & S experimental course.
   Gentlemen of netacad, soaking a bit more in the CCIE I managed to find out that this does not have prerequisite, so I consider that incorporating it into netacad courses as an experimental course based on the topics of certification would be great.
   In conclusion, the idea I want to share is that: CCIE R & S courses can be created in order to measure and enhance the number of professionals who would choose to take the course at a cisco academy.
   I believe that with this the cademias would have the following benefits:
   a) Greater prestige, as long as they have a certified CCIE instructor who dictates the course.
   b) It would enhance the competitiveness among instructors in order to become certified and become instructors at that level (CCIE R & S)
   c) The students would see a role model.
   d) You could get more out of the academy teams.

   Señores de netacad, empapandome un poco más osbre el CCIE logré averiguar que este no tiene prerequisito, por lo considero que incorporarlo dentro de los cursos de netacad como un curso experimental basado en los temas de la certificación sería genial.
   En conclusión, la idea que deseo compartir es que: Se pueda crear el cursos de CCIE R&S con el fin de medir y potenciar la cantidad de profesionales que optarían por llevar el curso en una academia cisco.
   Considero que con esto las cademias tendrían los siguientes beneficios:
   a) Mayor prestigio, siempre y cuando cuenten con un instructor CCIE certificado que dicte el curso.

   Es decir que todos los cursos que un instructor abre se puedan organizar automáticamente por ACADEMIA y por linea, aqui algunos ejemplos de linea de cursos.

8. badge on completion of course

   Would it be an idea that you could take the NetAcad courses and transfer them to LinkedIn, for example. just as you do with eg. Lynda.com?
   In that way you don not have to put the in there manually

   Thanks for your suggestion. We are looking into this suggestion further. Due to other obligations we will not be able to bring any enhancements for this to Cisco NetAcad in the next 6 -12 months. We are closing this idea for now. Please know work will continue on this idea.

9. Instructors may report curriculum errors

   Maybe with a small tool we can report quickly errors in translations and misconceptions. It is very hard to do via email.

11. Online/Digital Signing of Certificates

    We often have classes that we make available to various communities during outreach programs and expos. People who signup for these classes are sometimes not full time students or people in the same geographical area. This makes it hard to sign off on certificates as an Instructor.

    Please develop the capability to add Instructor Signatures digitally on certificates at the beginning of courses so that certificates are signed when downloaded after completion.

    Alternative, provide an option where certificates do not need to be signed for certain courses and this option can be enabled or disabled when creating courses.

    Thanks for the suggestion. Self-paced courses are signed by Laura Quintana and instructor-led courses must have the instructor signature. Unfortunately, we will not be able to change this at this time.

12. Packet Tracer for Mac OS X

    Develop a native supported Packet Tracer application. Mac OS is almost as popular as the windows platform, but there is only a functioning software for windows. Even most of the technical staff at Cisco that I have met use Mac OS as platform. This is a problem as i can see it, especially in the education regarding the students access to practical skills.

    NetAcad regularly monitors usage on NetAcad.com. The latest metrics indicated only 2% of our users are using the Macintosh platform to access NetAcad.com. In comparison, 89% of the users are using Windows and Linux platform.

    We will continue to monitor usage and will consider Packet Tracer MacOS support based on customer data.

13. Improve the ITC Locator and the ASC Locator

    What happens when a trainee is lost when they can’t find instructor training? Can we add a link where a candidate instructor could submit a request for help or for instructor training? “Submit a request for instructor training” “Submit a request”… also add a help link on ASC Locator

14. Break up courses that align to certifications requiring two exams

    Is there a way to either create a mid term or break into two courses courses like IT Essentials or CCNA CyberOps that require two exams? This way students can get their discount voucher for the first exam halfway through the course, and then the second discount voucher at the end of the course.

    Thanks for the feedback. IT Essentials will consider this option for the next course update. Unfortunately, CCNA CyberOps will not be changed at this time.

15. Create an API for course creation

    I'd like to be able to use an API to do the following:
    1) create a course, set start and end dates
    2) create seat tokens
    3) set due dates for each assignment
    4) add assignments

    Our academy is run entirely by volunteers and having a manual process for course creation takes instructor time away from students. I'm sure even those institutions with paid staff would benefit from automation.

17. Assessment Activation - more options needed

    The Activation tool would be much more user friendly if the following options were available:

    • modify an existing activation (such as change the start/end date/time or change the duration of each attempt)

    • bulk activations need the option to change duration of each attempt from 1:00 to whatever is desired

    Thank you for your feedback. We understand and agree with your comment, but at this time we will be unable to implement a solution to allow for modification of existing activation dates/times. You can delete and recreate the activation or create a new second activation if you would like to extend the exams availability.

    For your second bullet point, as previously mentioned, you will want to set up an Activation Profile and set the Duration to whatever you want in there. When you go to bulk-activate exams, you can then check the box ‘Apply Activation Profile’ and it will change the settings to the personalized settings you made on your activation profile.

    put recognition of schools and instructors on public site. While trying to show my college that I got an award for expert level instructor excellence from Cisco I am having problem that only I can access the site and I cannot refer PR to a site showing I won the award or info about the award. Why hide recognition of awards?

20. Add link from inside class back to Course Details

    It would be helpful if there was a link in the course that could take you back to the course details for the current class. An example is when you are in the class and you wish to add a student you have to go back to I'm Teaching, find the class and click on course details.
