  2. Treat Ungraded as 0s

    This still does not work as the default. It remembers my choice to leave this checkmarked, but from time to time it forgets and I have to turn it back on. Not only does it do this to me, but it does this for my students in their gradebook giving them a false impression of what their score really is for the class (regardless of what I select in my gradebook). It should be checkmarked by default or give the instructor the ability to turn it on by default when the class is created.

    I don't even get this option…

  3. When will the new Cisco file sharing site be fixed so teachers will use it?

    There appears to be two different locations in the new file sharing site to upload and download files for Routing and Switching. Which one should we use?

    Uploading files seems to take more work with fewer options. For example; there is no way to add chapter folders to the site so everything will be placed in a single semester folder.

    The single folder option might be OK if the search engine worked. It still doesn’t!

    Once files are loaded all the information (Icon, Filename, and description) appears in a single narrow column, making it difficult to look through.…

  4. activated exams list

    I sent a preview message to give neccessity to represent activated exams with different color, to help student to know what exam is activated in his assesment environment.

  5. Academy ID number

    Please provide a way for ITC or ASC to find the ID number for Academies. From time to time when academies buy equipment from the local cisco partner. The partner needs the Netacad ID number to process the purchase.

    Hi Truls,
    Academy ID numbers are provided in the ASC Dashboard available using the Access Academy Reports link under the Manage tab in NetSpace. ITCs can use the Academy Locator to find the ID numbers.

  6. Records of past exam activations.

    I would like to check if I (as an instructor) activated an exam for a student in the past. If a chapter exam was a homework assignment and the student never took the chapter exam, I would like to verify that the chapter exam was active, listing the start time and date and end time and date.

    Hi Todd,
    Thank you for your post. Here are the steps to view past exam activations:

    1. Select Activation Tool, then Manage Activations.
    2. From there, you should see both a Current Activations tab and an Expired Activations tab.
    3. Click Expired Activations. You will see the start and end date and time of the activations.
    4. Select the exam.
    5. Select Students.

    Hi again!
    We just tested this and the Activation Tool is available in the course we created and we were able to batch activate all of the exams. There may have been something happening when the course was created, I’m not sure. My suggestion is to try to create another CCNA Security course to see if the Activation Tool is there. If it isn’t, please let me know.

  11. Instutution student ID or email in gradebook download

    It would be very helpful if the institution student ID, screen name, and email was included in the gradebook downlaod. I have used Canvas before, so I know this is possible. I went through the trouble of making sure all of my (130+) students used their college username as their institution ID, and as their username. This was to allow for seamless transition between the Blackboard gradebook and the Netspace gradebook. If people don't want the extra information, it's easy enough to delete after downloading.

  12. Fix the Inbox Messaging

    Please fix the messaging systems so that when I have mulitple different messages to send I don't either have to remember to completely close the Messaging page after sending each message, and then come back to it.
    I need to do this because it will only allow me to send one message - when I try to send another message in the same session it fails and I lose the message completely and I have to open anew message session and re-type it

  13. Assessment server for CCNA Voice & Certificate

    There is a great need for an Assessment Server for the
    curricula "CCNA Voice" !
    Also there should be an Academy Certificate/Letter for the students for motivation and elevated success in their hunt for jobs.

  14. A course notepad

    It would be interesting to add a notedpad in the course, maybe, a shared notepad for instructors when they could annotate different notes, suggestions, events and so on.

  15. Allow printing of instructor authored quizzes.

    Often I have students with accommodations and they may have to take an exam that I have authored in a different location than my classroom on a different date. I would like the opportunity to print it out so that I can supply them the hardcopy. This way I do not have to rely on the Internet or proctoring issues when it is a closed book exam.

    Now I can only copy it from the browser, paste into Word and then do extensive editing.

    Hi Lorraine,
    I asked about this and here is what I found out:
    Printing Quizzes is something that Canvas did not design for. See https://help.instructure.com/entries/20339402-Ability-to-Print-a-Quiz-Easily.

    However, a quiz can be printed as a PDF. You can download any Print to PDF software you choose. The person I asked uses Primo PDF, but there are many other free ones.
    1. Open Quiz.
    2. Click Take Quiz.
    3. Right Click on the Quiz (anywhere).
    4. Click Print.
    5. Select your PDF printer.
    It is not ideal, but doable.

  16. Recruitment - Reg

    Students undergoing Netacad courses raise the question why should we do these courses apart from subject knowledge, since no priority is given for the Inernship programe, campus placements and off campus placements. So it is suggested that Cisco should give first priority for Netacad students for the above programs.

  17. link token seats with mail

    To have a possibility for linking tokens with an e-mail of a student and they can received them automatically by mail.
    For example a simple table of two columns one for token and another one for the mail of student. So we could paste the mails matching all the tokens which we've created, and to send them automatically.

  19. Basic in CCNA

    Please concentrate in Curriculum, why because, those students are not having idea about CN they may learn from grass root so my point of view is if we consider them then they may interest to join this course, CCNA Exploration is good for them.

  20. better viewing of all acitve exams

    Previous version allowed us to see all active exams at once. I don't have time to look at each individual exam - as I have to now.

    This is available in the Activation Tool. Click on Manage Activations and you will be able to view Current and Expired Activations.
