  2. Delete Existing Class in NetSpace

    In Cambodia, one instructors has created a few classes, and later he decides to delete the class, but he can't find where he can delete the class in NetSpace.

    Hello,
    I just received an update on this. NetAcad is not planning to develop a CCNA Voice course. We will be leveraging the community-developed Collaboration Primer to enable instructors to introduce voice/collaboration technology in their classes in the June 2014 timeframe.

  4. Posting Information about how Java updates affect assessments

    My students periodically get an error message when taking assessments using Google Chrome that say something like: "The following pages have become unresponsive...you can wait or kill the pages."

    Academy support mentioned that it's likely due to Java updates and to try the latest version of another browser like Firefox. Alternatively, I could try "going to Chrome settings and add '.assessment.netacad.net' to BOTH the Java exceptions page and the Pop-up exceptions page have [at times] resolved the issue."

    I would like to see posted somewhere in Netspace (FAQs perhaps?) suggestions to fix this "Pages unresponsive" issue (and any others that…

  6. Modify Conclude and Permanently delete course buttons

    Issue: Manual conclude course hyperlink is in a poor location. It is located under the 'Permanently Delete this Course' button.

    One could understand the concern of pushing said button when the data / course is something that cannot afforded to be lost.

    Story:
    The issue i had today was trying to conclude a course from 2013. Attempting to adjust the end date of the course wouldn't work and resulted in an error message:

    "The duration of this course must be between {0} days and {1} days. Please adjust the start and end dates to meet this criteria."

  9. Being Able To export the Final Exams to Word Docs

    In the old Netacad System, you would be able to print the exams to have on hand and quickly access. With the new Netacad System, you can only view the assessment. I think it would help you could be able to export the exams into a Document format. Tech Support said it was that way to prevent cheating, but maybe the document can be encrypted with a password set by the teacher or something to that extent.

    Hi Walter,

    These exams were not designed with printing capabilities in mind to allow for instructors to always have the most recent version available in our online environment. One thing that you can do is take the exam as a student and turn the item feedback on. The item feedback report will list all of the questions on the exam and relevant information (if you “uncheck” the Student View Only Missed Questions from the Student Performance Summary Report in the Assignment.

    NOTE: This does not work for the higher-stakes final exams where the item feedback report is disabled for the students by design.

  10. Faire une interface simple

    Ce serait bien de faire une interface qui soit moins usine à gaz :
    J'ai besoin : d'ajouter facilement un élève, de créer facilement un cours, d'activer facilement les examens, de faire facilement le suivi du niveau des élèves...

    Tout le reste est superflu...

    L'interface actuelle est bien trop complexe, trop peu intuitive et bien peu ergonomique.

    L'ancienne interface était usine à gaz. La nouvelle n'est pas mieux. Dommage.

    Please submit this to Instructure. We don’t handle the Canvas translations. Once this is implemented, it will move into NetAcad.

  12. Enhanced Student Activity Tracking

    I propose a suite of enhanced individual student activity tracking tools, perhaps on an individual student activity history page. This will allow us to more closely monitor effort compared to student outcomes. Events might have optional Instructor Notifications via email, text or Canvas Inbox, granular to the individual student level, to more intensively monitor low-performing students and permit immediate Instructor communication and reinforcement. To start the brainstorming:

    • Individual student Netspace login/logout events, and elapsed time.
    • Student completes an Assessment, with grade and elapsed time. (I don't believe we currently have access to complete Assessment history.)

  13. Announcments

    I would like to have a better announcment procedure. If I send an announcment to my students it would be good if everybody would receive a popup window, that an announcment has just been received.

  15. Updating switches in Packet Tracer with the new 15.0 IOS

    I would like to see the networking academy uipdate the 2960 and 3560 switches with the newer 15.0 IOS. That is the IOS that is required for the new curriculum.

    I’m not sure if you saw Kang’s comment so I’m posting it here:

    15.0 IOS for 2960 is available in PT 6.1.1
    You can bring a server in PT then change the IOS of 2960 via FTP/TFTP in PT

    For 3560, IOS 15 is not available in PT at this time, we will look into this. thanks.

  16. Improve search functionality for ASCs

    When searching for an ASC under the Manage Tab-->Manage ASC relationships, the search function takes into account capitalization e.g. axis brings up zero results while AXIS bring up AXIS Progressive Development. Capitalization should not play a role in search

  20. instructor enrollment

    I believe that there should be a search feature when trying to add an instructor into an academy (used to be called "share instructor" in academy connection). Moreover, the instructor should get an email notification that he/she were added to the academy.
