Reinstate 'advisor' role for new Moodle based Courses
Historically, the advisor role (and main contact) were able to see inside classes and offer support, admin and adjunct teaching - enabling busy Cisco Academies to delegate admin, have teacher support and scale delivery ... sadly, this role no longer works on the new Moodle experience - as far as we can ascertain, this can be reapplied, however our friends at Cisco need to understand if there is actual community interest/desire for this.
What this will do is potentially lock out courses and student admin when instructors leave, are ill or require support - which is an administrative concern.
254 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the feedback. We have added a Course Facilitator role. This will allow the instructor to add a Contact, Staff, or Advisor to their course through the Edit Course page. The Course Facilitator will have the same functionality as an instructor.

[New LMS] Move "Course completion" function to the Gradebook
Courses that require that Instructor sets the "course completion" checkbox for a student to grade the course was always in the gradebook in Canvas. Now in the new LMS is it not in the Gradebook, but well hidden under the "cog" on the main page (attached). For many instructors impossible to find. Please move this tool into the gradebook and make it easy to discover.
159 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for your feedback. We have added a link to the Grades page called “Course Completion”. This link will quickly take you to the Course Completion page.

Email - select all button!
There NEEDS to be a 'select all' button once you have chosen a class (and the group) of students you want to email.
I can't individually go through and click 100+ students in my class to be able to send out a group reminder!

Reinstate the ability to copy from another course
New new experience should be in place before new experience course go live. As instructors, we are not using the academy for experimentation. We're using them to teach full course loads. Course copy is not something, I or anyone I work with, consider as n option feature. Please fix it.
86 votesThanks for your suggestion. This has been implemented for the new experience.

Allow disabling "Enroll Now" fields, replacing them with a "Enrolment closed"
Self-paced courses are useful and can be setup easily. It would be great if we could keep the self-enrol page active, but limit additional enrolments.
This could simply be done by disabling the "Enrol Now" field, and replace them by a message saying "Enrolment is now closed".
72 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the idea. We have added a feature to Self-Enroll page you can check to close the enrollment. Once you are on the self-enroll page settings you will see the following: "Close enrollment (prospective students can visit the self-enroll page, but will not be able to enroll) ".

Resize Columns on I'm Teaching
It would be very helpful to be able to resize the Course ID and Course Name columns on the I'm Teaching page. Many times the course name is truncated. It looks like maybe only 18 characters are shown by default. Many time we have long names, for example "ETW: Network Programmability - section#" and we could have multiple sections. It is hard to determine which one without hovering over all of them to find the correct one.
46 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the suggestion. We have implemented this idea and you can now adjust the column sizes when you are in the list view on the I’m Teaching page.

have the ability to uncheck a students course completion
with the new experience on NETACAD, I accidentally checked the box that stated the student had completed the course. I contact support and they sent it up to the next level. They stated there is no way to uncheck that box once its checked. this needs to be fixed, if i did it by accident, im sure more will do the same. Even if we had to contact support to get them to uncheck the box that would still work. At this time i have a student that cant do anything in the class because i cant uncheck this box

create forward and back buttons through the news so that I don't have to exit, click in scroll down and click.
Really, who thought a list of articles with no convenient way to navigate through them was a good idea? Basic UI, folks. People are lazy. If you want us to read your articles, make it easy to read one, click forward or back, and read the next.
41 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you again for the suggestion. We have implemented this idea. You will now see a link that says “Next Article” and the name of the article will be a hyperlink to click on.

Mark new courses as favourites
Can new courses created automatically be marked as favourite, this would then ensure that new classes created will be found at the top of the list and Instructors would not have to search through a number of courses to find new classes.
39 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedWe have implemented this suggestion. All new courses will automatically be marked as a favorite.

Add Students: Import from Course
If I want to add Students from an other course I see all courses of my academy. I can't search in the course drop down box and musst scroll to the course i want. (our academy has many courses)
Idea: Make the course drop down box searchable. (That is very easy to implement)

Can we have assignment due dates next to the assignment like in the old LMS
In the old LMS the due dates were listed next to the assignments. This was helpful for both the student and the instructor. You did not have to look at the calendar every time you wanted to see due dates you can just look at the assignment list.
22 votesThanks for your suggestion. This has been implemented.

Bring back the email functionality to the new courses
Bring back the email functionality to the new courses. Removing the ability to email and send files to all students is a backward step
21 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedWe have implemented an emailing feature in the New Experience. We recently updated the message center to allow individuals to easily see items they have sent and various ways to sort incoming messages. We have now added an email feature so when you send a message to someone they will receive an email notification.
Please note: Individuals will not be able to respond to the email notification; however, a link is provided in the email to take the individual directly to the message center.

Fix Course Search to correctly treat standalone spaces
Currently if you type something in I´m Teaching => Search by course name or ID Field, and then leave some space characters in this field, the system will show you an empty list of courses.
This is very confusing. If you see your list of courses empty and you see nothing in the search (because it´s just a space character) you are lost. One of such issues was resolved in Support Desk Case 00103006.Proposal is to have fix that will not treat some standalone space characters as search criterion.
21 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the suggestion. We have implemented changes so adding a space in the search field will no longer work. In addition, the magnifying glass is no longer viewable if you added a character that is difficult to see.

New Experience - Ability to add and remove Moodle Course Sections
Many academies like to use a week-by-week approach to their course layouts, or have sections for different purposes/topics. As the primary (only) method of organization it severely reduces the usability of the Cisco Academy course shells to not have the ability to add and remove sections..
20 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the suggestion. We have added the ability to add Topics to courses created in the New Experience and to allow instructors to move activities from one one topic to another.

When any academy add instructor in their academy system should ask instructor that they want to be associated with academy or not?
When any academy add instructor in their academy system should ask instructor that they want to be associated with academy or not, it is not good practice that without asking instructor academics can add them.
20 votesThanks for the suggestion. We have implemented sending an email to the instructor anytime someone else adds that person as an instructor to a class.

Enable Group Sorting in Gradebook
Moodle allows for groups, and can sort the Grader Report by those groups, but that option is not turned on. I teach multiple classes of the same subject (ITE) and I want all of the students in the same course so I don't have to duplicate everything, but I also would like to sort the gradebook by groups to isolate each class when needed.
16 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for this idea. We have added this filter into the Gradebook and it will be visible when someone has groups in their class.

News and Events read flag
Currently the News and Events page lists all communications for the year. Is it possible to get some type of indicator which can distinguish a read from an unread post?
13 votesThanks for the suggestion. This has been implemented and a blue dot now shows you the unread messages. Also a filter will allow you to view only your unread messages.

Allow Instructor to Check or Un-Check the Enable Additional Attempts Check Box
Please change the check box so that it is NOT disabled so that instructors can CHOOSE whether or not to require instructor to enable additional attempts on assessments. Apparently in this release of the curriculum (Intro to Networks v7.x) this optional has changed for the Practice Final Exam. I do not know why.
12 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedWe have changed this feature for the CCNA 7 courses. When creating your class, please be sure to use the newest version to see these changes.
