IT Essentials FastTrack Pretest
As we increase our remote learning classes and no end in sight with COVID-19 there is a need to do some pretests for IT Essentials Fast Track for instructor that claim they have a CompTIA A+ cert or sufficient knowledge to bypass the training. I proposes that IT Essentials be changed to allow an instructor candidate take the IT Essential Final without having to take the course feedback. Then move the feedback as a post-Final Test requirement in order to be accredited. That way if the instructor fails the test he has to take the training.

Thank you for the suggestion. As the instructor training requirement will be going removed at the end of August 2021, we will not be implementing any changes to IT Fast Track.

Unproductive and counterintuitive
This is not an idea. I'm just expressing my frustration with the New Experience. This interface took away all my learning curve for the last 10 years. I don't know why it has to be so difficult to do my job as a Cisco instructor. I am very disappointed with New Experience. The design of New Experience is unproductive and counterintuitive. Please give me back the legacy Netacad. Thank you, Chun Yu

Thank you for submitting your feedback through the Share Idea button.
There are two key reasons that drove this choice:
1. It enables the Networking Academy to expand its global reach. To expand our global reach, the NetAcad platform is transitioning to a federated architecture with multiple instances located across the world.
2. It allows the Networking Academy to be more responsive to changing dynamics in education. One example of this is the integration of Webex video conferencing and messaging into the learning experience to support distance learning. By bringing the solution in-house, we have been able to aggressively pursue this opportunity and will be able to release some of the first fruits in the coming months.
There are other benefits to the new course management experience that are summarized in the news and announcements section in Cisco NetAcad, but the most salient driver of the decision is how it…

Individual Chapter Exams
Periodic assessment is crucial to good instruction. Grouping the assessments into blocks of 4 chapters is less than optimal. Often, the content of those 4 chapters may cover multiple weeks on class time. Assessing student mastery that long after delivery is less valid. There should be an option for single chapter assessments.

Allows learners to view correct answers after submitting Linux Essentials/Unhatched test
In the old system, learners can view the correct answers after they complete a test/exam in the Linux Essentials/Unhatched course. This is extremely useful for self-paced learners. Please bring back that feature.

Improve process for reviewing quizzes in new LMS
Reviewing quizzes in the new LMS is clunky and inefficient at best.
I really wanted to create surveys with multiple choice questions and link those to an assignment, as I was able to do in Canvas but that seems to be completely impossible in the new LMS. So, in order to assign points so students could receive credit for completing a first day of class survey, I had to create a graded quiz in order to use multiple choice questions. Multiple choice questions don't allow me to indicate that any answer is satisfactory, since I am really collecting information about…1 voteArchived ·AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) responded

New Environment - Text Too small
Unless I am missing how I can affect the font size, I find the small area left for the actual training materials very small. Too much area if given to the platform.

Export Moodle courses
I used to be able to take multiple Cisco courses and import them into one so that students would flow from beginning to end without the need to go from course to course. And since I teach Cybersecurity, not all of my curriculum comes from Cisco. I am able to integrate all of my other vendors into my Canvas LMS. Much like the current Python Essentials is integrated from an external platform. I would like the ability to export courses to import them into my main LMS or even the ability to join courses together.

Integrate Cisco LMS with Canvas
If this isn't already available, I'd like to be able to import the IT Essentials v7 into our districts SSO Canvas integration.

Thank you for the suggestion. We are looking into integration directly with institutions’s Single Sign On and LMS tools. We do not have a specific timeframe on when this will be available. Please keep an eye on the News and Announcements for more information.

About LMS
Sir, To read Material using laptop is very hard due to the latest portal updation where LMS is intergrated which is hard to read, I thing it should have ability to expand into full view which makes to come frontend and go into normal mode

I suggest translating this course into Brazilian Portuguese.
There are groups of technical-level students who carry out research and soon become involved in the market, with the potential to use the material but who generally have a foreign language with the greatest barrier to participate in the course.

In the new LMS, I cannot create a collapsible Module.
I would like to be able to create a collapsible module so that the students dont just see a huge list of assignments.

Instructors have the ability to hide and unhide sections called “Topics” in their courses. In addition, they can create their own topics and move assignments around from one topic to another. Please view the FAQs for more information. You will find Topics = Modules in our FAQs.

Able to zoom and enlarge lesson area
I cannot enlarge the lesson area, so when it goes onto the projector it's hard to see in the back of the class. This only started happening over the weekend.

Thank you for posting to Share Idea. Normally the curriculum launches in a new window. I reviewed your course and it appears to be set up correctly to go to a new window. Have you tried to right click and open in a new window or tab? Is your browser set to not open in a new window or tab?

Back link at the top of a page
These are located only at the bottom of a page. They also need to be at the top - at least to go pack to the previous section. You have to scroll all the way through the section to get back to the previous section. The index is also not organized well for this.

Bring Back the ability to forward student emails to a second instructor email address
Bring Back the ability to forward student emails to a second instructor email address. In the legacy courses you could receive student emails at more than one email address. This is a nice feature when you are using academy classes as part of your college class that you are teaching
1 voteThanks for your suggestion. Unfortunately we will not be able to implement you idea at this time. However, you can setup an email forwarding rule with your Netacad email address to your secondary instructor email address.
