  1. ITEv7 Training Materials Issues (Chapters 1-8)

    I'm about halfway through my first teach using the new IT Essentials version seven material and have some feedback on items I have found.

    Attached is a Word document with my comments for chapters1–8, some are just general comments, some are minor typos, and some are items I thought were errors. Most of the typos / errors carry over to the PowerPoint files.

  2. False answer in the curriculum 4.1.1 quiz

    The option as answer to the 3. question is false stating: "If there are no matching ACEs in the ACL, the packet is forwarded because there is an implicit permit ACE automatically applied to all ACLs."

    It's supposed to be: "If there are no matching ACEs in the ACL, the packet is discarded because there is an implicit deny ACE automatically applied to all ACLs." as reflected in the feedback popup.

  3. Move ITEv7 PT 6.1.5.3 to Topic 14.4.2

    In ITEv7 I suggest that Packet Tracer 6.1.5.3 - Control IoT Devices be moved to topic 14.4.2 basic scripting due to it’s too complex for chapter six and because of it question asking the student to review java script.

  4. Hyper-V is a Type 1 Hypervisor

    Hyper-V is a Type 1 Hypervisor

    I think that Microsoft’ Windows 10 Pro version 1903 Hyper-V client is a type 1 native hypervisor but the ITEv7 training says it’s a type 2 host hypervisor (see below items). I was going to try to ask Microsoft, but I thought you would have better contacts to ask / confirm this.

  5. Fix IT Essentials

    There have been a lot of issues with the material this year with ITE 8.0. A couple of big ones: search function is hamstrung. When searching the material you only search the current chapter. This is a problem when reviewing a module. Another bigger issue is the exams. I have run across several questions that reference material that is no longer included, such as think & thin clients. The exam says it's covered in 3.4.2, in ITE 8 there is no 3.4.2, I had to create an ITE 7 so my students will have access to that material. Please clean…

  6. Stop shuffling topics from version to version of CCNA

    The curriculum is really good. Refine and improve what you have instead of totally re-inventing the curriculum.

    Each time you do that some of the labs get messed up. Parts of topics get missed. Students are assessed on things that haven't been covered in the previous modules.

    Prime example is The Introduction to Networks v7 Packet tracer lab 10.4.3 Basic Device Configuration. IT DOESN'T WORK!.

    There are things in the lab the curriculum hasn't covered yet.

    The Isomorph topology doesn't grade properly. The Instructions don't include any addressing help in the address table. It is a mess.

  7. Msg for developpers: unadequate position

    for example in course 12.1.2
    When changing image by clicking …
    the button WPAN or WLAN, … = ok
    but, when clicking the Arrow Under the image = NOT OK --> position is reset to home position

    Same problem when choosing a page in the menus...

  9. Give titles to chapters of ITE 7

    Chapters of IT Essentials 7, when reached through the Modules link on the left, do not show their content (topic, title) neither in the first link, nor in the entering page. We have to reach the first chapter page to see the topic. I have opened a Ticket, they say this is "by design". Very bad desing, should this be true!

    1. Question is not relevant for this Topology, becaus you can not see if it is a WAN or a LAN?
    2. It would be better to ask how many Broadcastdomains?
    3. In my Opinion the answer ist wrong. I can see 5 instead of 4 Broadcastdomaisn or if you want LANS
    4. In the Errata for NWE I can not see an entry for that error

    I believe there are some small bugs at the plataform of curriculum CCNAv7: SRWE

  14. Problems with PKAs in Cybersecurity Essentials.

    Hello Cisco Staff,

    This is a little urgent, it is related to two important labs in this course.

    I have noticed an issue in two PKAs for Cybersecurity Essentials.
    It affects Portuguese (Brasil) and English.

    PKA 6.2.4.4:
    You are not able to finish activity as resilience of equipment is configured, points are not computed for secure boot-image and secure boot-config commands.

    PKA 8.3.1.3:
    Same thing happens here. Resilience commands do not compute to complete the PT score, so it is basically locked up. There is also a password mistake (securesallys vs. securesally) written on text in Portuguese (Brazil) translation. You…

  15. ENSA PT 5.1.9 has an error

    I tested this Packet Tracer Activity and discovered that the interfaces on R1 are connected backwards. The F0/0 and F0/1 interfaces are connected to the File Server and the Web Server instead of to the LANs. The E0/0/0 and E0/1/0 interfaces are connected to the LANs instead of to the FIle Server and Webserver. I have not figured out how the initial connections could have worked. See attached files for visual references.

  16. Modify ENSA 5.4.11 image

    In ENSA on screen 5.4.11, it states "Host entries are not automatically listed prior to range entries." but the image doesn't have any range entries. The image on 5.4.10 should include range entries as well as 5.4.11 otherwise this statement isn't proven with the image.

  17. Course Details - Get All Letters & Certificates Failed!!!

    Several minutes after my submission, I got two links of certificates and letters.   20. Change ITEv7 Labs Gray ‘Answer Here’ Text Style to Red

    The ITEv7 labs Word documents use three ‘Answer Line’ styles:

    • Answer Line L25 (based on Body Text L25)
    • Answer Line L50 (based on Answer Line L25)
    • Answer Line L75 (based on Answer Line L50)

    All three of these text styles are gray bold italic text. The gray color of the ‘Type your answer here’ text tends to blend in with the other text on the page when it would be preferred for this text to standout on the page.
