Course Announcement tool
I just created a new "Switching, Routing, and Wireless Essentials v7.02" course but i could not see the "Announcement" tool. After talking to the Support Desk, i was told that the Announcement Tool is being phased out of courses!!
I rely on this tool to send reminders to my students throughout the semester. the "delay" sending these announcement is a huge time saver for me.
I wish that you continue providing these useful tool to instructors.
Thank you.4 votesThanks for your suggestion. This feature is being added to all new course template releases going forward. Please watch for your course to be released.

Bring back the email functionality to the new courses
Bring back the email functionality to the new courses. Removing the ability to email and send files to all students is a backward step
21 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedWe have implemented an emailing feature in the New Experience. We recently updated the message center to allow individuals to easily see items they have sent and various ways to sort incoming messages. We have now added an email feature so when you send a message to someone they will receive an email notification.
Please note: Individuals will not be able to respond to the email notification; however, a link is provided in the email to take the individual directly to the message center.

New Experience - Ability to add and remove Moodle Course Sections
Many academies like to use a week-by-week approach to their course layouts, or have sections for different purposes/topics. As the primary (only) method of organization it severely reduces the usability of the Cisco Academy course shells to not have the ability to add and remove sections..
20 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the suggestion. We have added the ability to add Topics to courses created in the New Experience and to allow instructors to move activities from one one topic to another.

discussion forum
New experience doesn't have anymore the discussion forum option with email delivery to participants.
It is a legacy moodle function and it was included in the old canvas experience as well,
it is essentials for distance/online learning and at the moment very important to foster Netacad platform adoption for didactic in several insitutions10 votesThanks for your suggestion. We have implemented your idea.

create forward and back buttons through the news so that I don't have to exit, click in scroll down and click.
Really, who thought a list of articles with no convenient way to navigate through them was a good idea? Basic UI, folks. People are lazy. If you want us to read your articles, make it easy to read one, click forward or back, and read the next.
41 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you again for the suggestion. We have implemented this idea. You will now see a link that says “Next Article” and the name of the article will be a hyperlink to click on.

Enable Group Sorting in Gradebook
Moodle allows for groups, and can sort the Grader Report by those groups, but that option is not turned on. I teach multiple classes of the same subject (ITE) and I want all of the students in the same course so I don't have to duplicate everything, but I also would like to sort the gradebook by groups to isolate each class when needed.
16 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for this idea. We have added this filter into the Gradebook and it will be visible when someone has groups in their class.

Allow Academy to change the task/module dependency
We used to be able to change the order/dependency of modules and tasks in the Canvas system. For example, we can make our learners complete the final exam before doing the course feedback form.
The courses have different dependency set up and currently some of them require learners to complete the course feedback form first, some of them require them to do the exam first. It would be good to be able to standardize this.7 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the idea. We have made changes to allow instructors to create “Topics”. These topics can include restrictions such as activity completed, date, or grade.

Reinstate the ability to copy from another course
It's very important that we are able to export/import content without having to recreate it each time. This is a basic feature of every LMS and I was on my college's committee to select Canvas for my college.
5 votesDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the suggestion. Individuals can now copy a course from one New Experience course to another. After launching your course go to the gear icon and select “Import”.

change date available
Why do all items by default in course show available until day before we mark the course ends in creation? Stuff should be available to last day.

Ability to clone customized course for multiple sections
Ability to clone customized course that can be used across multiple sections.
We teach multiple sections of the same course with different dates and different faculty. This requires us to have common customized template with common course content, assessment etc.
1 voteDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedIndividuals can import customizations from one course to another. Please see the “Backup”, “Import” and “Restore” options under the gear icon after launching your course.

Notifcation Messages
Would it be possible in the event of a message in the inbox to set up a notification to webex teams or to notify a personal email address. We sometimes have unprocessed messages because if we work we do not always think of checking the content in the box

Python Essentials course:
One should be able to change restrictions. I understand the restrictions on survey and terms and conditions, but not on modules.
I also like to be able to change the title of modules

Exams restrictions
Make restriction that student can't pass chapter 3 exam before he didn't pass chapter 2 exam with score more than 70 (or a score determined by the instructor)

We have provided restrictions to topics that will allow you to add this type of restriction. You may have to create topics and move activities from one topic to another in your class to get this to work best for you.

Text Boxes Double Spacing
When I type information into any text box the automatic spacing is double when I hit enter (except this text box!).
Can the instructor have the flexibility to set the default text box spacing to single?
Thanks,
Joseph Ryan1 voteDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThe default paragraph setting when you add something to the New Experience is Heading. This makes things double space. However, if you change the paragraph format to “Pre-formatted” than you can do single spacing.

Have announcement section in new platform for CCNA Security course
There is no announcement section in the new platform for CCNA Security course. I know this course will be changing but those of us who still have to teach this course until the new one is rolled out may need the announcement feature.
1 voteDelivered · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedWe have added an announcement about a new course titled “Network Security”. This course will replace CCNA Security.
