Turn on the ability to edit posts and add attachments to replies
Offer the ability in communities for the author to edit their own posts. This will allow for better reading of posts when someone mistypes and can just go back in and fix their own mistake. Along the same line, please allow file attachments as replies.

Suggestion: R&D inside Academy
As we are in an academy domain, why not to address Cisco R & D in our community.
I suggest to make some joint research for both students and instructors to do some projects and research works this involve but not limited:
1. Technical and Research journals
2. Final Year Projects
3. MSc and PhD Projects
4. Curriculum and Books writing.
5. Adding Student Forums in the community.I am not sure if this is possible; however, how to do that?

Incluir de forma obligatoria en los certificados (New Requirements for Certificates)
En todos los certificados debe ir de forma obligatoria el numero de horas del curso, así como la firma del instructor y nombre de academia.
In English: Add the Academy Name, Instructor Signature, and the number of hours completed for a course to all Course Completion Certificates.

Use VIRL for labs virtualization
Packet Tracer is a great simulation tool, but limited for advanced study.
Cisco has a new and fantastic tool called VIRL for labs virtualization (almost full feature).
This is a game changer, instead of having fisical hardware, you can just virtualize it. It would be great to have the possibility to use this powerfull tool in netacad with our students.
For those of you that never heard about VIRL watch this movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BjBEVl24eA
Best regards,
Hugo Veiga21 votesThank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately we will not be able to incorporate VIRL into our labs at this time.

add virtual routers to maintanace allowed downloads
Please can you add permission to use/download cisco's virtual
routers and switches to the maintenance agreement. even if it's just the limited demo images
These would be a usefull resources for when packet tracer is missing a function or hardware is not practical.20 votesArchived · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThanks for your feedback, virtual equipment is something we are constantly revising but unfortunately we won’t be able to implement it at this time.

Certificates for Global IPD Week need to be placed in each instructor's profile.
Many instructors attend Global IPD week to meet requirements for professional development. The certificates are emailed to each participant and have a tendency to end up in the junk mail and never found. Could these certificates be added to the instructor's profile in netacad.com instead of being sent by email?
20 votesArchived · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedWe appreciate your suggestion. While we do think it is a good idea we are unable to implement at this time. We will keep this in mind for future releases.

Restrict access to the Exam based on the IP address of the user.
I just learned on the forums of the Netspace community that there is a possibility how to check what IP address the student last logged in from, but it is an option available only for managers. I think that is a very important option for instructors also to restrict access to the exam for students in the classroom based on the subnet of the user (during the activation of the exam) . And I give the example of this option on the other LMS (Moodle for example), where you'll can restrict access to the test based on the subnet of…
19 votesThanks for your feedback. After technical analysis, it has been determined that security options can’t be met. One recommendation may be to implement proctoring of assessments if this is a considerable concern at your academy.

Badging Students
This is a post - just discussed with Echo in the FB group ... another instructor wondered if they could track what self-enrol courses were taken by any of their students.
With all the work that is going on in open badged courses - knowing that some of our students move between academies as well as take these independent courses - it would be useful if we had badges after their names within the user list - as this would show their progress.
It helps when I 'add' students, it helps when others recruit my students say for CCNA>CCNP or…

differentiate between hard concluded and soft concluded courses
I accidentally discovered that if a class is concluded by an instructor then all the enrollment details grades and everything are deleted. "hard" concluded
This is a pointless system. Why would anybody want to do that and if they did, would they not just delete the class?
I want to see a link to archive a course that gives full access to review grades and download certificates etc, rather than this "hard" conclude link.
I know this is possible, as "soft" concluded courses where the expiry date for the courses has passed are still full accessible by the instructor.
16 votesArchived · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedWe recommend instructors do not hard conclude courses. Instead, simply set the end date of the course as appropriate. Check out the “Try new version” which allows you to easily filter by In-Progress and Ended courses. Ended courses, which are past the end date, allow full access to enrollment details, grades, etc.

conflict assessments across multiple classes
For conflict assessments activations across multiple classes, the error message should be specific by giving name of the classes causing the conflict. For now, it is difficult for instructor to trace the other class assessment activation causing the conflict as attached

"Submit" Button whan taking an exam
When you take an exam, you can navigate inside questions with arrows on the left side... Often, students are confused with the button "Submit" on the right, and send the whole questionary before ending it (even if they know what the button does; they just forget because they're concentrated on the exam).... Could you change the wording by "Submit All questions" or "submit whole exam" for exemple....

Course Order of Appearance
In the new Academy interface, our courses are ordered based on favorites > status > start dates (with courses starting at a later date appearing earlier in our list of courses).
Regarding start dates, can you please make the courses that start at a later date appear later in the list, or towards the bottom, not the top.
12 votesThanks for the feedback. We have determined this request will be considered for future enhancements, but can’t be implemented currently.

Have certification exams just like the regular course.
Having the option to create these courses in Fast Track modality will really help.a) Fast track CCENT
b) Fast track CCNA R&S
c) Fast track CCNA SECURITY
d) Fast track CCNP R&S
e) Fast track CCNA Cyber security Operations
f) Fast track IT EssentialsEstos cursos serían dirigidos para alumnos que ya cuentan con los conocimientos práctico teóricos y que los prepararían directamente para la certificación internacional. …

Change of Name from Cisco Networking Academy to Cisco Academy
Over here in Nigeria for example, there is this challenge about creating awareness of what Cisco Networking Academy is made up of, to managements and faculties in tertiary institutions.
The first question normally asked by these managements is: Is it only networking students must do? We all know the Cisco Networking Academy encompasses almost all fields of computer science.
I rather think and suggest a name change from "Cisco Networking Academy" to "Cisco Academy".
Thanks.
11 votesThank you for the suggestion. We will not be able to change the name of the program.

Offer the IT Fundamentials course through netcad
This course appears to be a precursor to the A+ course and would be good for students to start here to see if this is what they want to do.
11 votesThank you for your suggestion. Please use the Get Connected course as a precursor to the A+ course. At this time we will not be developing a separate IT Fundamentals course.

TA / Instructor in training role
It would be useful to be able to assign a staff member as a Teaching Assistant or Instructor-in-training with limited privileges provided.
Useful privileges would include:
- ability to look at the curriculum without being enrolled as a student
- ability to activate or reset/unlock assessments for students10 votesArchived · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the suggestion. Staff members can not help with assessments in the courses at this time and we are unable to make that change. Staff members can help with many other areas of the course without being added as an instructor such as viewing the curriculum.
