Disable option for students to use Canvas to email the INSTRUCTOR
I recently learned that the NetAcad contact has the option to disable Canvas email between students to deter cheating. But the students can still email the teacher. Most education institutions require the students to use their organization email address to keep official records of student/teacher correspondence. Recommend that the academy contact be allowed to disable the email option within Canvas completely. In my case this is presented to the students on day one through their Student Handbooks but students take the easier way out and still email me using canvas.

Thank you for the suggestion. We have talked to the Canvas team and this is an idea they have received outside of the Cisco environment. They do not have a lot of votes so the enhancement is not something they are able to implement at this time. They will keep this in mind for the future.

Use Netriders PT Skills as Advanced challenge labs in R&S courses
I teach Linux using the netacad.com LPI Linux Essentials course. Within the course are four challenge labs at the end of the modules.
Cisco is not running the Netriders competition this year, and seemingly has run Netriders for the last time.
What is the possibility Cisco would release the Netriders competition PT skills exams as advanced challenge labs within the R&S curriculum?

Provide a place for Academy administrators to sign in the students course completion certificate
Provide a place for Academy administrators and the Instructors to sign in the students course completion certificate. This will give more value and credibility to the Certificates.

Improve Internal Server Error UX
In Chrome some students experienced an Internal Server Error when they navigated to the a specific page "assignments" like Chapter 1 exam.
Maybe it can be a cache related error but, because Netacad involves a lot of students, it could be more useful to catch the error in back end and give friendly information to the students.1 vote -
Sort Acadamy User list
Users who have the NetAcad Lead role within their organization should have the ability to sort the user list.

Thank you for the idea. We are not able to implement this suggestion at this time. However, NetAcad Contacts can export the user list to a CSV file. This would allow you to sort and filter the list as needed.

View inactive users
Once a user has been deleted (due to the above reasons), the system shoudl not default back to page 1 of user list, but stay in its current location.
Already available: Users who have the NetAcad Lead role within their organization should have the ability have a list of students who's email are not verified, or have never logged to the system, so that database can be kept clean.

problem to load packet tracer exams
It will be better if you (cisco) develop your own tools for the pachet tracer because many student find difficulties to load online packet tracer exams .

Thank you for the suggestion. The team is looking into alternatives for using Java with Packet Tracer assessments and flash is no longer required. Unfortunately we will not be able to remove Java from the packet tracer assessments in the next 6 months so we are archiving this idea.

Assessment answers need to have only one distinguishable correct answer
CCNA2 R&S - Chapter 4 exam has question regarding Layer 2 Switch functionality. Yet again there are two answers that contain two almost indistinguishable answers from each other.

All proper assessment models state that there should be only one distinguishable proper answer. Nearly every Cisco assessment contains at least one question that has two answers with slightly different wording that can be misinterpreted to mean the same thing. Incorrect answers should contain…

Update lab images for Windows 10
Since Windows 7 is no longer going to be supported in 2020, a lot of schools are moving to Windows 10. The current labs for CCNA curriculum have images that are from Windows 7. A significant number of students are going to be lost when the lab images don't match what they see on their screens because they are using Windows 10 machines.

Hiding course contents
If a hide a module (in the Module menu) unpublishing it, the student can still access that chapter content, simply opening any chapter in a published module and browsing the course, when he has in the browser bar https://static-course-assets.s3.amazonaws.com/...
There should be a way to effectively prevent a student from accessing the whole AWS course contents.

What about a PenTesting course with Kali Linux and Metasploitable on netacad? Is there any plan in the pipeline?

Fillable PDF Forms for Labs
Please continue to create the form-fillable PDF forms for all of the lab assignments within the curricula. The current version of CCNA and CCNA Security curricula include downloadable PDF forms for each lab assignment. These are invaluable in grading. The fields that students fill out as they work through a lab can be highlighted and easily found and graded. Without the fillable form PDFs, we must return to paper-and-pencil versions for grading. The last three chapters in the CCNA Security course do not include fillable PDF versions of the lab documents, and I understand the curriculum team does not intend…

Easy certificate download
I was looking for a one click option for any specific student’s status of completion for all simultaneous courses he/she have been enrolled so that I could download certificate of letter of completion for that student in a much easier way.
1 voteThanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately due to privacy reasons, we will not be able to implement this idea. Students can download all of their certificates themselves and work the instructors if signatures are needed.

Use real IOS in Packet Tracer
With IOSv, IOSvL2, and ASAv all available through VIRL, why not allow these to be used within Packet Tracer. Students may then have a more realistic experience with the IOS. And there would be full support for all of CCNA, CCNA Security, and even CCNP. I believe many Academies would be willing to pay a one-time fee or subscription for this feature. It would be very helpful for Academies that do not use NetLab.

Discount Voucher
Discount vouchers for instructors and students should be given directly by the ASC Manager when future instructors and students who took the lecture requests for a voucher or wants to retake the exam after they fail it at first try.
