  1. A problem with packet tracer

    Hi all,
    I am having trouble with Packet tracer, the simulation that encompass a solar PV, a meter, a battery and 5 bulbs. I have set up the network as required, but when I click to use the IoT cable, it had two small circles at the beginning and end, and none of the bulbs light (become green). I an not sure of the two problems are related. Please assist.

  2. Keep Cybersecuirty Link current

    ITN, Chap 11. This lab is not consistent with the changing SANS site. Instead of specifying specific link which changes I recommend asking the student a more general question that can be found in a sight that is constantly being updated. See 11.2.2.6 Lab - Researching Network Security Threats.pdf

  3. Course Completion

    It is mandatory to have instructor to approve column for all the classes opens by instructor; I have given students some question to complete and upload, but student completed cousre feed back and got his certificate, so please make it mandatory have that column, it could imporve teh quality of course completion and seriousness of assignment submissions.

  4. Research support for the undergraduate level

    Hi, I teach at the community college level (Ivy Tech) and have some router focused security enhancement ideas of my own & some very capable students who could help investigate those further. What are the steps for getting our campus/ school involved in such a capacity with Cisco?

  5. Get PT more user fiendly

    Me and my students very often use PT7, and propose the following:

    1. Eliminate the User Profile window on startup (see attach); it shows
      wrong information (Guest, while I'm logged in with my Netacad profile)
      and its only purpose seems... to be closed

    2. Speed up the opening of the .pkt or .pka files: the initial logo mask is
      there for at least 20-30" even in very recent and powerful PCs, with SSD...

    3. When opening .pka files, please put the instructions window in foreground.
      It's not user friendly to always hide it under the main Working area window.

    Thank you for your suggestions. We talked to the Packet Tracer team and they have provided the following:

    1. User Profile window only shows up when you load an activity that requires it. The purpose is for the student to enter a name and email (Not their netacad login) that will let the instructor identify who worked on the activity. If the student changes this profile, it will reset the activity, thereby preventing cheating. Otherwise students will be able to share completed activities with one another. Although we ask the user to login to their netacad account, we do not use this information as a means to populate the file because some classrooms may use one installation with a single login.

    2. The slow load times of PKT and PKAs require the user to send us their file. In general, 7.1 will load faster than 7.0. However, in our own…

  6. Allow multiple selection updating of assignment due dates or "open until" dates

    As stated, or, modify the "quick edit" to include due date, and "open until" date.

  7. Error while downloading Packet Tracer

    When I try to download 64bit version of PT for Windows (My NetAcad -> Resources -> Packet Tracer), browser reports error "Too many redirections".

    Probably, link is corrupted.

    My students refer the same error, too.

  8. Create Public url to login page from the public Instructor Profile

    In the public profile of the Instructors, there is a link to "My Netacad" and it is NOT working WITHOUT login. it leads to https://www.netacad.com/group/landing and appear blank page.

    I suggest to correct that one and include the login button in the top right side of the public profile page also for easy access.

  10. fix errors in assessments

    Hi. I'm Marina. Sorry, but I think that some answers in [CPP] Chapter 1 Assessment are wrong:

    20 question - the right answers are: deque & list, because the basic container must support front(), back(), pushback(), and popfront ()(vector doesn't support pop_front) => it can't be used in queue

    23 question - the right answers are: deque, vector & list, because the basic container must support back(), pushback(), and popback ()(all those containers do)

  11. Speed Grade need to show txt files!

    The speed grader should show text files. Now you have to download and open them to see the content. Very inconvenient when looking at configs submitted by students.

  15. Transfer hybrid program to another academy

    We have created a hybrid program around CCNA, Intro to Cyber security, Cyber Essentials with some external content and would like to share that link with other Australian Academies. Currently for another academy has to recreate the hybrid course - this seems to be duplicated unnecessary effort

  16. Include a mask next to the IP in the command "show ip interface brief"

    I think it's important to add the subnet mask next to the IP address in the "show ip interface brief" command of IOS, making it easy to validate the IP address configured in the interface completely, without having to use another command to check the mask.

    It could be added via binary count notation (/24, /16, for example)

  17. Provide solutions to assessment problems on Student Accessible FAQ page

    We run a very large Academy with ~900 students every year undertaking CCNA, as such when problems occur we have a lot of them to deal with. One issue is when students undertake assessments. While the final assessments are in a supervised classroom, the individual module tests are for feedback and done on students own devices.
    Two recent problems which have occured in the past include:
    1) The questions in a NetAcademy test are blank. This is apparently due to browser configurations, yet it is hard for teaching staff to remember this and burdening the support line for a problem…

  18. Create Instructor Accounts for people who want to view resources

    We as CSR Managers would like to be able to create an instructor account for strategic people such as state departments until they are ready to officially be able to become an academy.

  20. randomize questions

    Allow instructors to give assessments in different random order of questions. So question 1 is not same for all students but is 1 for some and 5 for another and 10 for another for instance. To help prevent cheating
