  2. Wireless Controller Simulation in new version of PT

    It seems to me that everything goes wirelless...

    Have you planned the implemetation of a wireless controller device in the Packet Tracer?

  3. Challenging Labs Repository

    How about creating a repository, in the cloud, full of challenging exercises in networking (CCNA R$S, CCNA Security, CCNP, etc.), using Packet Tracer or real equipment.

    This repository can be divided in two parts:

    1. One part for sending real life, or not, challenging problems
    2. Other one for sending solutions (descripcion, labs, files etc.) or interesting propositions.

  4. Until Date and Drag and Drop was closed inappropriately

    This was closed:

    "It appears that when and "Until Date" is set on an assignment, and then the drag and drop feature is used in Calendar to move the assignment to a new date, the "Until Date" is not adjusted to at least the "Due Date." This causes a loss of functionality in the Drag and Drop feature of the Calendar since I still have to go in and manually adjust the "Until Date." In addition, since the "Until Date" does not show up in the short-list of dates, it cannot be fixed without multiple clicks... "

    Thank you for the updated feedback, Roger, however this is functioning as designed. The ‘Until’ and ‘Due’ dates are two separate features. The ‘Until’ field is used to “lock” the assignment whereas the ‘Due’ field is used for display purposes on the students end to show when the assignment is due and when it will be marked as late if submitted past that selected due date. The ‘Until’ field locks the assignments so that no submissions are available after that date, if only a ‘Due’ date with no ‘Until’ date is selected then students can still submit the assignment. Since these are two different features they do not talk to each other to update each other when one is changed by the drag and drop feature.   5. IT Essentials Combining 801 and 802

    When i teach IT Essentials I first teach CET 1 which equates to the 801 test, then the next semester I teach CET 2 which equates to the 802 Comptia A+ test. The curriculum is scattered throughout the course. Can you combine all of the 801 curriculum in one area and the 802 curriculum in a different area? this would make teaching the course much easier and two different certificates of completion can be printed for each course.

  6. Hide Assignments

    Please, give the instructor the capability to totally hide from student's view un-needed assignments. The Mute assignments option leave them viewable creating confusion.
    It would be nice to have the same functionality we have for quizzes.
    Besides, let the instructor to default student's view of the assignment page to Date or Type

    Maurizio, you will be able to hide assignments from students following these steps:

    1. Log in to your Cisco NetSpace account at www.netacad.com
    2. Click on the name of the class under your ‘Teach’ section.
    3. From the course home page, click on ‘Assignments’.
    4. To hide an assignment you will be able to click on the ‘publish/unpublish’ icon (green cloud with check mark = published; gray cloud with X = unpublished). Unpublishing assignments will hide them from student’s view.

    Anoop, the downloadable course content is found following these steps below:

    1. Log in to your Cisco NetSpace account at www.netacad.com
    2. From the ‘NetSpace Home’ page, click the course you want to view and download.
    3. From the Course Home page, click on ‘Instructor Home’.
    4. Click on ‘Course Downloadable’.
    5. If this is the first time you are downloading the content you will first need to complete a short survery before the link is provided to download.

    “For academies that have a need to deliver the course from a local server, a downloadable option is provided for instructors. The downloadable file is to be downloaded by instructors only and used for instruction purposes. It should not be made available or distributed directly to students, it should only be used for instruction purposes.”

  8. Blank background

    When we launch the curriculum, we are given a choice of a background. I wish the extra space was used with the curriculum, but if for some reason it is necessary to use less of our screen, can we have a blank background?

  9. Slider scroll Bar on the course index

    On the course index, can we get a slider scroll bar instead of just up and down arrows so we can quickly scroll though the chapters?

    Jawid, you will be able to use the ‘Inbox’ feature on the course home page. From here you will be able to select a particular course you want to send a message to. The students will receive the message in their course inbox and will also receive it in their email as long as they have the notification preference set to receive notifications and messages to their email.

    To check the notification preferences, they will go to their NetAcad Profile page and click on the link “Change Classroom Notifications”.

  12. adding grading periods

    Regular Canvas has a feature that allows for adding grading periods that can line up with 9 weeks grades. It would be good to have in the Cisco Academy as well. Especially for those of us who have High School Students.

  13. Hide Student Marks ...

    I am going to embed some my BS Degree courses with CISCO courses (Because the outlines are almost same).
    In this regards I want to hide Student Marks from grade book Until Unless instructor mark them pass.

  15. Post a Netspace Alert

    Is there a way to get an Alert message put up on the NetSpace page stating that there is an issue with PT Assessments and Cisco is workingon a fix? That would be helpful I think. They could then put up a message once the repair has been made.

    Andrew, thank you for the feedback. Generally alerts on the NetAcad Home page are used for issues that affect all NetAcad Users. Since not all users are affected by the PT issues, we have not posted an alert but rather put a notice in the Communities section.

    Fields should populate enrollment data from registration table.
    It is painful populating the same data over and over.

    Deb, you should only have to enter in all their information the first time you enroll them (when first creating their NetAcad account), after that you can use the ‘Add Existing’ feature to re-enroll without having to enter all their information again. You can refer to the FAQs and Tutorials page for video tutorials on how to enroll existing students.

  17. Final Exam

    I suggest to add a lot of forms for the final exam in ITE and CCNA R&S and I see the same a questions are repeated so the students are depending on reads online questions without take course work.

  19. Fix the Export Button

    The export button used to work and now it does not. I think you guys broke something with this last update. I need to be able to export the grades to a spreadsheet.
