more use of Netflow GUI windows software
Add more labs with Netflow using Windows software for displaying the properties of the different flows. Also include data generating examples in the lab like: telnet to towel.blinkenlights.nl , surf to secure https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dgwyo6JNTDA , surf to unsecure (http) video etc etc
This goes for CCNA, and especially CCNP

Online finals on CCNP courses should be closed as default
I think it is basicly wrong that the CCNP Online Finals (now a quiz) is open as standard. No one should use this setting. The only test that realy should be kept as a secret to the very last day is open all the time (if I am not very much aware and close it before publishing) where the student have all the time in the worl to explore the questions.
1 voteArchived · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedThank you for the suggestion. At this time the default setting for these quizzes is not going to be changed. As the instructor of the course you do have the ability to change this setting. Our recommendation is to make this change before you publish the course which will prevent students from seeing the quizzes in advance. There are also other settings available such as setting an exact date for the quiz to be visable. Please contact the Support Desk directly through the Help link if you have additional questions.

Use VIRL for labs virtualization
Packet Tracer is a great simulation tool, but limited for advanced study.
Cisco has a new and fantastic tool called VIRL for labs virtualization (almost full feature).
This is a game changer, instead of having fisical hardware, you can just virtualize it. It would be great to have the possibility to use this powerfull tool in netacad with our students.
For those of you that never heard about VIRL watch this movie https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1BjBEVl24eA
Best regards,
Hugo Veiga21 votesThank you for the suggestion. Unfortunately we will not be able to incorporate VIRL into our labs at this time.

7 votesThank you so much for your input. We are planning an evaluation of our community ‘activity points’ for instructor recognition. This effort will hopefully stream line the activity that is most helpful and meaningful to our active instructors. We will consider you input as part of our evaluation. Please stay tuned as the points system for Community NetAcad.com engagement evolves!

Instructors may report curriculum errors
Maybe with a small tool we can report quickly errors in translations and misconceptions. It is very hard to do via email.
72 votesThank you for the suggestion. Several options have been researched about how to add this functionality to Netacad. We have created an internal ticket to keep this idea open and will be considered in the future.

Badging Students
This is a post - just discussed with Echo in the FB group ... another instructor wondered if they could track what self-enrol courses were taken by any of their students.
With all the work that is going on in open badged courses - knowing that some of our students move between academies as well as take these independent courses - it would be useful if we had badges after their names within the user list - as this would show their progress.
It helps when I 'add' students, it helps when others recruit my students say for CCNA>CCNP or…
19 votesThanks for your feedback. In the new calendar year we are thinking of new ways to engage students in our offerings. We will consider your suggestion as part of this change.

Turn on the ability to edit posts and add attachments to replies
Offer the ability in communities for the author to edit their own posts. This will allow for better reading of posts when someone mistypes and can just go back in and fix their own mistake. Along the same line, please allow file attachments as replies.
24 votesThanks for your feedback. We anticipate that communities will be changing in the upcoming calendar year and will consider this feedback with those changes.

Assesment
Please see the possibility of including dead /due date to students calendar once i activate the exam and remind them
this could easier student life; since all students are using phone these days and calendar is there they will get notification and they wont miss the deadline;
when i was analyzing the class report many students miss the deadline; it could be avoided by adding calendar notification in students calendar1 voteThanks for the feedback. Getting the Assessment to show on the student calendar is available today. After setting the Activation, the instructor can go into the Canvas Assignment and add the Due Date as part of the Assignment. Once completed, the Assignment will display on the Student Calendar.

class
In the class people section provide option to move class from one class to another class; for example if some students in a class unable to complete all chapters, exams due to some medical or personal reason; but the class end date is over in such case instead of marking students fail; incomplete we can move students from one class to another class so that students will continue with out loosing his previous grades, existing class will be concluded without waiting for pending students

exam activation
When i deactivate exam from the assessment center, dates never get updated in the assignment section ; still showing the old dates.
1 voteArchived · AdminSandra Ray (Customer Support Director, or Executive, Cisco Networking Academy) respondedYes, that is correct. The due date for the assessment is not determined from when an assessment is activated or deactivated. It is something the instructor has the ability to edit through the gear icon next to the chapter name.

Students Dashboard
Is it possible to make dashboards for the students?
Once we select any students we can see what courses he is enrolled in the past and what courses he is enrolled now.
The exams he has cleared in the past.
Regards1 voteThanks for the feedback. Privacy policy prohibits sharing that information. Each student has access to their own information, but we can’t provide this to others.

Calendar Integration
I am interested in a Calendar feature that provides the ability display a subscribed or shared calendar. Or the ability to create a secondary calendar that others could add items to.
The purpose would be for a single entity to develop a list of events, competitions, student opportunities and more, without each instructor receiving an email of an event and then using the good ole copy and paste method. This is not efficient, and not effective. Students are missing many opportunities for lack of time to effectively share them.
This feature would be used to allow a resource teacher, chairperson,…

Closing the idea for now. We need more details to understand the request for change. Please open a new idea with more details if you want to resubmit this in the future.

Items should be able to be removed from the calendar by deleting the due date for the assignment. If this is not what is happening, can you please contact the Support Desk directly by going to the Help link after logging into Cisco NetAcad. They will work with you to gain a better understanding of the issue and report any discrepancies to the development team.

exam activation
If a student enrolled after after an exam - test activated that student must be included in the existing activation; no need to create a separate activation for such students; difficult to know the later entry students and managing activation in such cases.
2 votesThanks for your feedback. At this time, we will not be pursuing the functionality to add later enrolled students to an exam activation.

Change boot/load time in Packet Tracer
In packet tracer, I would like to see a longer boot time for the devices. Not quite as long as actual equipment, but a little longer so maybe students who have routers and switches would use them more often.
1 voteThank you for the feedback. Packet Tracer is a simulation software for educational use; it is not a replacement for real equipment. The behavior of PT may not be 100% same as real equipment.
