Reinstate 'advisor' role for new Moodle based Courses
Historically, the advisor role (and main contact) were able to see inside classes and offer support, admin and adjunct teaching - enabling busy Cisco Academies to delegate admin, have teacher support and scale delivery ... sadly, this role no longer works on the new Moodle experience - as far as we can ascertain, this can be reapplied, however our friends at Cisco need to understand if there is actual community interest/desire for this.
What this will do is potentially lock out courses and student admin when instructors leave, are ill or require support - which is an administrative concern.

Thank you for the feedback. We have added a Course Facilitator role. This will allow the instructor to add a Contact, Staff, or Advisor to their course through the Edit Course page. The Course Facilitator will have the same functionality as an instructor.

In Moodle all CISCO would have to do is turn on the ability to allow us to change the user role of someone enrolled in the class. If the added person needs editing rights they could be set as a teacher role which essentially makes them a co-teacher. If the main teacher doesn't want that person to be able to edit the course but still be able to look at and grade assignments they could be assigned the role of Non-Editing Teacher. This is a simple default Moodle feature that could be turned on with literally a couple clicks in the admin panel.
There are numerous additional features that need to be turned on in Moodle as well. I've summarized several of them in my post titled New CMS Poorly Implemented. I don't know if linking to promote my post would violate the TOS otherwise I would have provided a link.
Come on CISCO. I KNOW we can do better with the Moodle platform implementation...

We are a very busy organisation, with many Cisco classes, often share the administration with other non-technical colleagues. Losing this would be a problem, making our management of your platform difficult. We like NetAcad, we respect the content, but we do need to have the right tools - when we need them. I do not think we often use this role, but when we do, we do need it.

Currently, I am the only qualified instructor at my institution. If I become ill, which could easily happen during the present COVID crisis, my academy classes could not be administered by one of the previously appointed "advisors". This problem needs to be addressed as I am sure that there are other institutions in the same position.

Up voted. This could be useful if an instructor cannot be available for a class.

this isn't going to work, just discovered that our team who help support many instructors cannot access the other classes - suddenly, working with NetAcad is so much harder and more difficult - thanks (NOT) for the consultation

The loss of this function will be very detrimental for our academy in SW London - We often need a back up tutor , there could be absence or sick leave due to Covid 19 and it will make it very hard for centre admins to oversee and assist with admin support . Many of our staff are sessional and do not work in a capacity to do all the admin tasks required. This feature needs reinstatement and Netacad must have more long sight and consult before removing such features.
