    Upgrade the NetAcad & Curriculum Lead's Rights.

    I have Two ideas:

    1st- It's very important to "the NetAcad Contact or the Curriculum Lead" to see in a simple page all the classes that are create and the instructors that are teaching in these classes. This will be very helpful for

    2nd- Is to develop a page where the curriculum Lead can use to manage Instructors and the classes they are teaching. So, in case that one Instructor is occupied by (sickness, got a new job in other enterprise, died, etc.), the curriculum Lead can enroll or add new qualified instructor…

    NetAcad Contact’s will have the ability to view (1) by:

    1. Click on the name of the academy from the ‘Manage’ tab on the ‘NetSpace Home’ page.
    2. Scroll over ‘Courses & Groups’ and click on the name of the academy under ‘Managed Accounts’.
    *From here you will be able to click on ‘Courses’ to see a list of courses and their instructors.

    You will also be able to see (2) by going to the ‘Manage’ tab and clicking on ‘View or Add Enrollments’. Here you will be able to select the academy and course you want to view at that academy in order to ‘Add Students/Instructors’ to the course.

  2. Community Forum Etiquette

    The community forums are full of one, two or three word postings containing "thanks", "thanks a lot" and many other contributions that are not related to the topic. The lack of use of the "like" button by community members has lead to long threads that cause members to scroll through many posting that contribute nothing to the topic in order to find meaningful content.

    These forums need moderation. The members that make these one, two or three word comments cannot seem to help themselves and we are unable to educate them on forum usage.

    Please allow or appoint some community…

  3. New Interface

    Applies across the board with the Cisco Acedemy.

    The interface is terrible and seems to get worse with every iteration. Yes people are not the type you want to use to test interface design. You just end up with the pile of non-sense that is now the Cisco Academy.

  4. Students Employment Status

    I suggest to add an "Update your Job status & Employer " for students so that students can update their job status and instructors/Admins can filter and contact those students who haven't find a Job yet. This will be beneficial for all academies over the world and will help us to know real statistics regarding employment of the academy graduates in each country. It will be also great if we can add to the locator section " Find a Cisco Academy graduate " tab so that Employers can filter academy graduates for a specific course / within a specific criteria…

  5. Need ability to access more information on a student

    As an academy Manager/Curriculum Lead I would like to look-up a student in my academy and get information about the classes he/she attended during hi/her time in the academy. Sometimes we are asked for information about a student who took a course, say 3 years ago and we fail to give sufficient information about them because the student in question should not be involved. This could be an employer who wants to know a potential employees track record.

    This puts an academy in a weak position and it sometimes tarnishes an academy's image.

    Hello Ruhuma, NetAcad Contact’s will have the ability to see the courses their students are enrolled in by following these steps below:

    1. Log in to your Cisco NetSpace account at www.netacad.com
    2. From the ‘NetSpace Home’ page, click on the ‘Manage’ tab.
    3. Click on the name of your academy under ‘Manage Your Institutions’ section.
    4. Scroll over ‘Courses & Groups’ and click on the name of your academy under ‘Managed Accounts’.
    5. From here you will be able to click on ‘Users’ to search or click on their names to see what they have been enrolled in or currently enrolled in.

  6. STOP concluding classes automatcially

    Stop concluding classes automatically!!! Or have it do it 10 or 15 days after the end date

    This is a VERY frustrating "feature" and causes undue work.

    For example, not all students print their certificates - right away. So, I get several e-mails asking why they can't, and I have to go in and re-enable the class, AND, answer all the e-mails.

    Also, when a student needs and extension, again, I have to go in and re-enable the class.

    Hello Rick, thank you for your feedback. The functionality has not changed when an end date is reached, the course is simply moved to the ‘Show Concluded’ side. It still has the same functionality as if you let the end date passed and still accessed the course from the ‘active’ section, but now you can access it from the ‘Show Concluded’ section as to free up room instructors wanted on their ‘active’ section. Students will still be able to access course completion certificates of a course that has the end date passed or even has been manually concluded by the instructor. They will do so from their profile page, if they can’t, then you will want to ensure that you have marked the student as ‘pass’ in the gradebook first. You can still activate exams and students can click on their ‘View Course History’ link to access the courses and…

  7. When creating course, let the instructor choose the defaut academy proposed in the list

    When I click on "create a course", the Academy that appears by default in the form is the first of the list created by alphabetical order. I never use this one. I often forgot to change it, so I'm obliged to delete the course and to create it again within the correct academy, as it is not editable ! It would be nice to give instructors the opportunity to select the default choice.

  8. Please provide/update Recognition for 2014

    Hello,

    I haven't found any updates fo Recognition Program for 2014.Please update!

    Also, you can put "CCNA Routing and Switching" section.

  9. Edit student page needs to be inside the curriculum!!!!!!!!!!!!

    The fact that we have to go out of the curriculum to access and edit students is a waste of time and there should at least be a link to edit student enrollment information from the curriculum page.

  10. Check Creator of student account

    In Academy Connection I can check the creator of student account but I can not do it in Netspace. It is a useful tool for academy manager to control online student account. Please add this function to Netspace. Thank you.

  11. Give us back the Global Support!

    I can no longer access The Global Support, to open a new Ticket,
    or to ask for Chat help, and to see my 400+ previous Tickets!
    Neither I know where to open a Ticket for the above... :-(((
    I'm always redirected to an ASC Support... but we are the ASC!!!

  12. Search in Communities does not search

    When I performed a search in the forums for a topic (for example "Linux") I receive a "No results were found that matched the keywords: Linux" message. There are indeed topics in the forum. When I do a search at the "Netspace Communities" Community Home, I receive all the information from all the forums (too much!).

    Can searches please be made functional for the forums within the Community Home? Thanks!

    Roger, the search from the Community Home can be filtered by clicking on the type to the left or from the ‘select space’ dropdown menu. -NetAcad Support

    Connie, in the course home environment you will have the left hand column links to click on as you navigate throughout the site and also toward the top of the page you will see the ‘home’ icon with the links next it showing the previous pages so that you can click on those links if you have to go back a page or two. -NetAcad Support

  16. Access to more information about students

    Instructors are looking for the way to see more information about students:

    • Search function with possibility to see classes on which student was enrolled;
    • List of the students in the current academy;
    • Student performance in dropped, completed and current courses.

    To see complete information about any students in your own courses, Start by clicking on the course name to enter the classroom environment. After you are in the course:
    1) Select People link from the left menu
    2) Select a student’s name in your roster; on the right, you will see a menu of information options:
    • Analytics — allows you to see a summary of all classroom activity for a student, compared to other students in the class
    • Grades — summary of all grades for this user
    • Send Message — direct link to send a message to this student
    • Interactions with You — summary of all interactions with this student
    • Access Report — displays a report of Content, Times Viewed, Times Participated, and Last Viewed

    To see student and course information outside of your own classes, the NetAcad Contact of your academy must give you…

  17. Allow a price discount for instructors to have opportunity to buy a curriculum lab equipement

    As known the Cisco academies have the opportunity to purchase a curriculum laboratory equipment and have an important discount. the rebate is issued to academies based on their Academy cisco ID.
    My idea or request is to give cisco instructors a rebate for the purchase of curriculum laboratory equipment that can be equivalent to the discount offered to academies. This discount may be granted to Instructors based on their ID Netspace profile.
    what de you think about this idea ?

    it will be great if we, instructors, can have that opportunity.

    Thanks for this suggestion. At this time we are not able to implement such a solution. We recommend that you work with your institution if you need additional equiqment.

  18. SEARCH FOR PEOPLE PROFILE

    It will be a good tool to add the ability to search people ( student, instructor, legal contact, administrators) profile, from all academies, on netspace.

    Thanks for your suggestion. You can search for instructors and other contacts in the NetSpace community. Dut due to privacy restrictions not all individuals may appear in search results, and students are not included in search results.

    I think cisco should find away to make the Academy certificate to equate that of the composite certificate, because we on the cisco Academy take longer time to study, get hand on lab skill and come back to become Instructor and even inspire to on to CCIE level. While brother on the other hand go to read dumps and write the composite exam sometime with any former training which make it look faster for them and it make us look we are wasting our time. Please this issued has been bordering me i think cisco should really look into it.

    Thanks for your feedback. We do not currently plan any changes to the certificate currently offered through Networking Academy. As always, industry certifications are available for those who want an additional qualificiation.
