CCNA version 5 only 4 Modules
I was under the initial impression all 7 modules being released for CCNA version 5 were a replacement for the Exploration and Discovery program and gave Academies more flexibility in the program to suit the audience. I have finally had time to look at where we are going in the “CCNA R&S Overview Presentation.ppt”. In this I see Cisco is taking us back to a four module structure. This is disappointing. My biggest concern is the style of teaching this will inflict upon us.
I think the temporary "Network Basics" provides a more linear approach (a hallmark of the Exploration curriculum) to teaching the OSI model and subnetting. The permanent “Introduction to Networks” at first glance looks something akin to the Spiral model of the Discovery curriculum. Is this where we are going? I strongly prefer the linear teaching model over the spiral model. I personally find for me and many students the Spiral model can be confusing. I guess I will need to learn how to teach the Spiral. I am not happy about this.
Hi Paul,
