I am not at all happy with the layout of NetSpace. I am REALLY struggling to find out how to work in this new environment. It would be a good idea to let us choose between at least two interfaces (like one copy of the old one) or should I say it would have been a good idea. I am telling everybody reading this now that I have learning disabilities. Still I have been an instructor for Cisco for 11 years now (credited with ten). Almost all of my evaluations have reached 4 and 5 on all points concerning me, because I know how hard it is to learn, so I am living the learning experience of my students. With the new interface my day has become ****, and I am not able to help my students that much because I am not as good at pointing them to the resources, which some guy in a video from Cisco told me is available to the extreme. Please, please, please give me the old interface back. I am a Layer2/Layer3 command line guy and this eye-candy is too overwhelming and hard for me to get around.

Thomas I am sure the administration understands when you and I and others rant over the site and changes. They know that we need a place to vent but you and I and others that have been with Cisco for years are trying to point out what is needed from the old site and Cisco is reviewing and as quickly as possible putting items back that are needed. I have seen very few if any complaints about the course material change it is about the interaction of the sie with instructors and students. Keep up the good work.

Thomas I have flagged the Anonymous post as inappropriate.
His comments to me as an educator for 39 plus years is very inappropriate thinking. As he said condescending much.I put no validating in any comment on these forums if the person will not put their name to the post. Kimberly I too would be interested in helping test. -

Hi Kimberly. Thank you for your answer. I am getting used to some of the features, but it's still an uphill climb. I would love to be put on the list for potential testing, since it's just 30-60 minutes, which should be possible to conduct here and there in the next two weeks.

Thomas I could not have said it better. In one of my comments that has since been closed an admin basically said the academy is not for profit and they have to allocate resources. I understand that but what they seem to be missing is that we the instructors and students are the customers. As I teach my 3rd and 4th semester students it only takes one dissatisfied customer to ruin your business. By reading the forums they have more then one. I am actually using the web site of what not to do.The students understand the point that when they go in to the workforce gather information from the customers and meet their needs. I am rapidly reacching the point to tell the students go out and purchase JUNIPER or other name brand routers/switches.

Interesting comment, Brian. I have contacted support about this after it occurred to me that the NetSpace site has been launched without extensive testing. The answer support provided, compared to what I see in this forum, tells me they have not. The discussion about the 24 hour clock and the date format proves that many important things have not been taken into consideration. And: When I still haven't received an answer (two weeks now) about even being able to read the curriculum, and support admitting that "there have been problems with some resolutions" it's a nightmare, so I am running the old curriculum since the new website is eating enough of my free time as it is. Our school will probably not continue with the Cisco program, which actually should be a problem for them considering the coverage of academies in our country and how worried Cisco has been over that exact problem the last decade and more.

I agree with you. The layout is very convoluted. You and I have been teaching Cisco about the same. I a bit longer ,I am starting my 13th year. Each evolution seems to have brought a change not necessarily for the good as evidenced by the numerous errata sheets. This seems to be more a social media site now rather then an educational site. I have started teaching the new material and am rapidly considering moving my students back one more year to exploration and then deciding if our district should continue with Cisco or move to Comptia.

I am sorry, Johan, my last post provided incorrect information. Let me rephrase:
For example: Choosing "Create activations" to deactivate chapter tests, rather than choosing "Manage Activations" is the exact opposite of intuitive.
Some of us do not have the time for this change. It's ok to change the curriculum or the web interface (which should be a tool and not a nuisance), but not both at the same time. Considering how many posts I see in this forum and sending in four errors from five students just the last five days, should be a give-away. some of us do work 12-14 hour days, seven days a week and do a lot more than educate Cisco classes or work at public schools. Also, you probably didn't catch a couple of important words in my first post. I am not reminiscing. I am looking forward all the time, although you may seem to feel that it's like that. -

Why wouldn't you be able to see that under Manage Activations?
Under Currerent Activations you see everything that is activated now, if it is not there, it is deactivated? If it is in Expired Activations it's not active anymore either?
Take your time and learn the new system, there's no going back so it's, imho, better to spend your time learning the new system rather than spending it reminiscing...
