Increase number of attempts for low level courses
Hi,
Re: Get Connected and Introduction to Cybersecurity.
I would ideally like to be able to set 5 attempts if possible for my 13-14 year old's who are the majority of our students (300+). Some have special education needs and require the support and opportunity of additional attempts.
Many Thanks
Regards
Dave
We appreciate your feedback on this idea. The number of attempts has been increased to 10.

I vote for this 3 times. We should prioritize the knowledge gathering, if student does not have all aligned to pass than should try again.

I fully support this - the intention is genuine and as long as the students benefit and learn from the assessment thats the main thing

I fully agree and support the proposal. Let's increase the number of attempt to all students, or at least to the ones that will need them the most, like the students with specil needs, letting the instructor decide when to apply additional opportunities.

I once took an anatomy and physiology exam where 100% was the pass rate. The lecturer in order to allow for this stopped the exam halfway through so all participants could get together over coffee and discuss the exam and in particular their areas of weakness. Sound like cheating? Yet everyone focused totally on their weak areas with fellow students and the end result was that all participants then knew the answers, I still remember them today. The message here is that enabling learning is more important than measuring performance in an exam environment. If it takes 5 attempts to pass an exam then so be it, isn't learning the goal not the measuring mechanism?

This is a welcome proposal. I will really appreciate it if Cisco NetAcad increase the exam attempts to 5. This will help encourage the kids.

This sounds like a good idea to increase the number of attempts to 5. If reluctant maybe it could at least be trialled over a set period and then considered further? Alternatively or in concert with, possibly a criteria could be applied for certain students.

this for us is essential ... our students also struggle and having this safety net would be a major bonus.

I totally agree with the motion to increase the number of attempt, at least this will also serve as a way of encouragement to the students.

Now that an increasing number of students taking this course and assessment are K-12, with many under 16 years of age, including some with special educational needs, a realistic number of attempts really does noeed to be set to allow for those children. A maximum of FIVE attempts is a far more realistic limit for those children.
