Lock submission of assignments at grading period end
At the end of a grading period, it would be useful to be able to Lock any submissions so I can grade what's currently in, without fully locking down/un-publishing the course.
The Helpdesk Chat suggested changing the End Date, and I'll see if that works; however, a simpler solution should be available (something akin to "Close Sumissions for Grading until___"

As it turns out, changing the end date of the class DOES work.
Simply change the "End Date" of the course to today, and students won't be able to change any entries after today (it was set to 11:55 pm for me, but I don't know if that's true for all days; I didn't see a Time setting).
When I finished grading, I simply changed the date to somewhere after today and student functionality was restored immediately. It actually worked very well.
In fact, I set it to end at my next grading period end, so I don't have to remember to lock it ;)
