Ease of Student Enrolment
There are a number of issues with enrolling students into classes. We run a large Academy (100s of concurrent students) with multiple concurrent classes. Due to the large size of our student list we need a simple means of creating multiple classes, creating multiple student accounts, and allocating those students to a class. There are also a number of issues with student enrollment/accounts:
1) Students can change their name and/or email addresses in the system making it almost impossible to locate students in a University class list from the NetAcademy gradecentre
2) Students are not sorted by surname (seriously which system does NOT sort students by surname?) this is the only sort that actually makes sense
3) Creating multiple accounts is hard. The token system is not useful due to students not using their University known names and IDs so account creation is something we need to do. Why is there not a well-publicised ABI so institutions with >100 students can develop programs to auto-create student accounts and auto-enrol them to a class
4) Putting students in a class is hard, why can't I upload a list of students in one go, and the system can create all the accounts and put them all in the nominated class
5) Changing defaults within a class is hard. I manage multiple concurrent classes (up to 17) why can't I set my mark distributions, what aspects are visible, gradebook rules, etc in one spot and apply them to all my classes
