  1. Activate assessments immediately not after 24 hours

It doesn't make sense that an assessment takes 24 hours to become activated after an instructor requests activation

  2. allow Instructors to set and share a pool of written exams at checkpoint ? Especially for ITE and ICS and CSE know cybersecurity?

This will break the cycle of multiple Choice that they take easily... If they got the training it shows in the responses given... And brings out any sections not understood well. It means instructors also to share 4th either oops if the same... Just for checkpoint evaluation.

  3. Assessment Center

Under Settings -> Navigation, Assessment Center can only be visible to the instructor if he/she moves it into the category where it is visible to the student. It actually isn't visible to the student if you move it here.
Please make Assessment Center visible to the instructor at all times.

  5. Ability to modify FIB answers

Students are counted wrong for answering 'convergence' instead of 'converged' in an exam in chapter 1; it's a safe assumption there will be more questions similar to this.

The only way to give a student credit for a question like this currently is to manually check their answer, find the total points for the exam, calculate their new percentage, and make that a manual grade in the gradebook.

If an instructor were given editing rights to FIB questions, we could make exceptions for questions like these and retain the automatically generated score (or even better, make the correct answer 'converg*',…

Thank you for your feedback. Cisco has decided not to provide instructors with the ability to modify the assessment FIB questions. However, as an instructor, you can adjust the score in the gradebook at your discretion. Also, you can create a Support Desk ticket to have a particular exam question reviewed by the Assessment Team.

  6. Hide Assignments

Please, give the instructor the capability to totally hide from student's view un-needed assignments. The Mute assignments option leave them viewable creating confusion.
It would be nice to have the same functionality we have for quizzes.
Besides, let the instructor to default student's view of the assignment page to Date or Type

Maurizio, you will be able to hide assignments from students following these steps:

    1. Log in to your Cisco NetSpace account at www.netacad.com
    2. Click on the name of the class under your ‘Teach’ section.
    3. From the course home page, click on ‘Assignments’.
    4. To hide an assignment you will be able to click on the ‘publish/unpublish’ icon (green cloud with check mark = published; gray cloud with X = unpublished). Unpublishing assignments will hide them from student’s view.

  7. Final Exam

I suggest to add a lot of forms for the final exam in ITE and CCNA R&S and I see the same a questions are repeated so the students are depending on reads online questions without take course work.

  8. Managing activations with CSV

I manage all my classes from a MsOffice application of mine.
Even if I already can create and edit classes and populate students by 1-clic in my excel sheets, I need more integration with Netacad.com.

I would like to integrate tests activations --> It could be very easier by exchanging CSV file, like with students lists.

Would you plan it? Many thanks

  9. Competency Based Learning

Would love to create dependencies on exams to provide CBL.
Students have the option to take an "Entrance Exam" for a series of modules... Exam Modules 1-8. If the student Passes (85% or above let's say) the "Entrance Exam", the student would have the option to
keep the exam grade in lieu of going through Modules 1-8 and their exams. Should the student choose not to accept the "Entrance Exam score" the student would be required to go through Module 1-8 materials and Exams and whatever the end grade of those will be it.

    For example:
    Linux Essentials
    "Competency 1…

When you go into the ‘Modules’ folder they are by default divided into Chapter Groups. You will have the ability to lock modules or create prerequisites for each module as you have described. Although dependencies cannot be created specifically for exams, you can place that exam in a specific module with a specific prerequisite.

  10. Exam question discussion (Errata)

Instructors should have the option to discuss exam questions from within “assessment viewer” – instead of submitting errata, for poorly worded or incorrect test questions.

  11. Chapter Exam questions chosen from a random Pool

Instructors should have the following options when activating tests:

    • Randomize questions from POOL, to decrease identical tests
    • New randomized test on student retake

John, thank you for the feedback. By default the ‘Randomize Items’ is selected for exams, if you have multiple forms selected with ‘Randomize Items’ checked then students will receive random forms and the items will be randomized also.

You will be able to go to: Assignments > Exam > Create Advanced Ativation > Students, to select a specific student to create the activation for. Or you can go to Assignments > Exam > View All Attempts > View Activations > Create Activation.

In the ‘Inbox’ you will be able to use Ctrl+click the messages you want to highlight and then move to the trash. If you have many in a row you want to highlight you can click the first one and then hold down ’shift’+click the last message which will select all between those two and then you can move to the trash.

  14. Allow the NetAcad Contact to activate exams and view the grade books for classes in his academy

Allow the NetAcad Contact to activate exams and view the grade books for classes in his academy without having the right to note the student as Pass or fail in the gradebook.
The NetAcad Contact can be given the right to activate any exam for the classes and also he can view the grade book for any class. So he can follow up with the instructors if needed.
However he will not have the right to note a student as Pass or Fail in the grade book.
The feature was available in the academy connection platform.

Hello Jean, NetAcad Contact’s already have this ability in Cisco NetSpace:
    1. Log in to Cisco NetSpace and click on your ‘Manage’ tab.
    2. Click on the name of your academy listed in the ‘Manage Your Institutions’ section.
    3. Scroll over ‘Courses & Groups’ in the upper left to find the ‘Manage Accounts’ section.
    4. Click on the academy under ‘Manage Accounts’.
    5. Here you will see a list of courses under the ‘Courses’ section, or your can use the ‘Find a Course’ to filter the courses.
    6. Click on the course name to be able to view the course as the Instructor does and access their ‘Assignments’ page and ‘Grades’, etc.

    Thanks!

  15. stop access to assessments from different devices simultaneously

If multiple attempts is enabled in assessment activation, same account can be logged in and perform the test simultaneously on different devices. This issue violates the reliability of the assessments. It is much better if logins are limited to one device only. So same accounts can not be accessed from different devices at the same time.

When you create an ‘advanced activation’ you will be able to select ‘approve additional attempts’ if you are worried about students logging in with multiple devices during an exam.

  17. need to show selected settings for each activation

When an instructor is creating an assessment activation, the instructor selects options on whether the assessment requires approval to retake; instructor should re-enable assessment. The selected action settings should appear in the current and expired activations so that an instructor should be reminded of what settings were choosen to assist in troubleshoting re-enable and re-take cases for students.

Menard you will be able to see if any action needs to be taken if the check box is activated and not grayed out for that column in ‘approve additional’ or ‘re-enable’. -NetAcad Support

  18. show statistics on activations for each assessment activation date

instead of scrolling down the list of students to identify incomplete attempts; complete attempts; pending attempts; approve additional attempts; re-enable incomplete assessment we can have counts for each the mentioned items in the headings so that before you scroll down you have an idea of how many incomplete assessments are there etc . These should apply to current activations

Menard, instead of scrolling you will be able to sort by the column you would like to view by clicking on the arrow next to the column header for activated exams. -NetAcad Support

  19. Tie course feedback to current course not past courses or increase the number of attempts

I recommend either increasing the number of attempts on a course feedback or tying the course feedback to the current course not previous courses. The two attempts does not work well for students who re-take a course whether it be due to failed attempts, medical reasons or other.

Katherine, currently there are 2 max attempts for the Course Feedback. If the student needs to re-take the course they should have that second attempt available. If they are re-taking that course a third time, you will be able to contact the Support Desk and provide the student’s information and they will be able to provide an additional attempt for them. -NetAcad Support

  20. allow one open session for students

to prevent fraud in skills, I think it is absolutely necessary to allow one and only one access per student.

Mohammed, students will only be able to have one Cisco NetSpace account per email address. If they have multiple accounts it is because their instructor used a different email address when what is listed on their existing account. -NetAcad Support
