password protect chapter exams
Password Protect Chapter Exams
In our distance learning classes we require exams to be taken at our testing center on campus. It would be very helpful for these exams to be able to have a password assigned so that proctors at the testing center can make the exam available to the student. Without this type of check in place the student can take the exam anywhere they want, which is not what we desire.
Thank you for the suggestion. We are looking at ways to implement unfortunately we will not be able to implement in the next 6 months. We will continue to work on this enhancement for future releases.

Using SmartProctoring to administer proctored exams requires a passworded exam to force students to access the exam through the service. Not having the ability to add a password prohibits the ability to give proctored Netacad exams.

Allow an Access Code (or password) to protect Cisco Final Exam
It would be very beneficial for Cisco to allow an Access Code to be placed on the Cisco final exam, like it is for quizzes. Our department offers many online courses with the final exams proctored remotely. Students schedule their individual exam times with the proctoring service during the last week of the term. The way we enforce proctoring is to set an Access Code on each exam that only the proctoring service knows, not the students. This is similar to what can be done with a quiz in Cisco Networking Academy. Without an Access Code, students can bypass proctoring, which not only monitors for use of outside resources, but also authenticates that the student taking the exam is really the student enrolled in the course. If you can allow use of an access code on your final exam, it would help both you and us maintain the integrity of the Cisco final exam.

I am already using the assignment availability, due date and Instructor Must Re-Enable Incomplete Assessments options. But still during the activation window for an assessment for example, a user can access the exam from multiple devices and their is possibility of cheating.

Buzzy, If implemented the password would be optional for those that have the need. I give out tests in class and out of class through our testing center. I hate having tests that need to be completed at our testing center activated without password protection.

Thanks Joy. When you say "open to voting" are you referring to voting with the netacad staff?

I agree. I would love to have this option. We do proctored final exams at my college.

Great idea, Scott!
This would enable us to use this at any official proctoring center, and definitely increase the validity of a student attempt!
It might also be nice to add the feature to the create new module. If we could lock down access to a module folder with a password, then we could place any item we wanted in the module folder we create, and all assignments in it could be protected. (unless there is another view available for it from a different location, e.g. we might have to turn off 'Assignments' view in conjunction?)
Password protection would add a lot of value in so many ways. -

I would also like this option to be on the final exam as well. I forgot to mention that on the original post. This would also be great for used with make up exams where I will proctor an exam for other instructors.
