Integrate Lock-Down browser for NetAcad Exams
During the pandemic I have noticed students completing exams rather quickly and scoring 100% on them. As we know, the answers can be found easily online. Lock Down Browser with WebCam functionality (monitor) allows a recording to be taken while the student is taking the exam, while locking down all their extra monitors and only allows a student to view the exam while it's being taken. I would highly recommend similar function for NetAcad exams. It's the only way to proctor an exam during this time.

Three Enhancement Requests on the User Profile in PT Assignments
I require students to enter their name in the User Profile and the date in the Additional Info field for PT assignments. In some cases the User Profile window does not pop up automatically so I provide what I call "Initial Guidance" on how to do this. It would be nice it was always displayed the first time they launch the PT.
Second, in some cases, when they enter their name in the User Profile, the PT assignment is not resetting to 0. This means they could share their work, have the beneficiary simply change the name and be done…

Thank you for posting. We are looking into the 3rd item, user information and how to display this differently. They are hoping to have this in the next version of Packet Tracer.

Quiz scores as percents
Graded quiz scores are limited to being displayed as points. Give the instructor the choice to display them as percents. This will greatly reduce the time it takes to convert them from points to percents when exporting the canvas gradbook into the official grade book used by my school (Progress Book).

Figure out some way to include module numbers covered by assessments in CCNA courses when activating assessments
Since version 7.0 of the CCNA courses came out the module numbers do not show on the assessment server pages (create and manage activations). The assessments do not appear in any order that makes sense either. This means that when activating or managing an assessment I need to go back to the main page of the course and find the name of the assessment under the list of modules and then go to the assessment page and find that assessment.
This is a UX disaster! Really, when working with multiple assessments it wastes a considerable amount of time flipping back…

Improving the Cisco Networking Academy can be approached from various angles, focusing on curriculum enhancement, student engagement, and support for instructors. Here are some ideas:
Curriculum Enhancement
• Up-to-Date Content: Regularly update the curriculum to include the latest technologies and industry trends, such as advancements in 5G, IoT, AI, and cybersecurity.
• Hands-On Labs: Increase the number of practical, hands-on labs and simulations using tools like Cisco Packet Tracer to enhance experiential learning.
• Specializations: Offer more specialized courses or tracks within the academy for emerging fields like cloud computing, data center technologies, and network automation.
• Soft Skills: Integrate…

Show number of questions for Secure Finals
With the implementation of Secure Finals, instructors are note able to view the number of questions on the final exam. I suggest that we update the viewer for secure finals to show total number of questions. This is helpful when planning how much time is required for the exam, especially for students with disabilities and those using screen readers.

Activities, tasks and practices (interaction with the student)
It's crucial to provide students with more challenging opportunities and access to one or more services for experimenting with programming, cybersecurity, networks, systems, and more. While current activities are beneficial, many are quite simple or overly repetitive. This might be understandable if the subjects were genuinely complex, but often they're the opposite. For instance, questions like 'What's the purpose of cybersecurity?' have straightforward answers like 'Protecting systems, networks, files, and data from unauthorized access.'
It would be better to engage in competitions within a virtual machine environment that simulates defending against or launching controlled attacks, offering a more realistic experience…

Integration with "Safe Exam Browser"
Moodle 3.9 supports using the open-source software "Safe Exam Browser" as an option to use a "Lock Down" style browser for taking exams. This is similar to the "Lock Down Browser" that can be integrated with Blackboard and other LMS', except that it's free. This would allow for more secure assessment delivery, as the browser takes over the screen. https://www.safeexambrowser.org

Grade Column under Assignments Link
I have contacted Moodle and they have told me that once logged into a course there is an “Activities box” in the upper right corner and inside of that there is an “Assignments link”. I use that Assignments Link regularly for grading the assignments.
Moodle told me that there are Submission and Grade columns at the far right. I see those as well. The Submission column shows the number of assignments that have been submitted. Moodle says that their system also shows how many submissions have been graded or are left to grade in the “Grade” column as well.

Please make "Instructor Must Approve Additional Attempts" as configurable option (again)
Please make "Instructor Must Approve Additional Attempts" as configurable option for final chapter (1-9, 10-14, 1-14) exams, e.g. IT Essentials course but may apply also for other courses. It was so earlier times (e.g. 2021 spring). Now is serious regression and makes a lot of hassle for students and instructor. Had chat conversation with your support and only reason was enforced "Secured Activations". I would say, that such enforcement does not increase security in no way but will cause lots of issues. As students can do these exams up to 7 days, thay all do that in own time. Then…

Packet tracer Autograder
Having a tool that scan a folder for PKA files and pull the user profile and completion percentage out would be a huge asset for instructors!

Default settings for quizs and exams!
Students are allowed to see the correct answers everywhere. This requires additional time from the instructor to turn off it.

Figure out some way to include module numbers covered by assessments in CCNA courses when activating assessments
What's old is new again. This popular request was denied without an explanation so it's being resubmitted. If you're not going to do this the instructor community which is wasting time because of bad UI should get more of an explanation than "we aren't going to do this at this time". If you truly do not care about the time being wasted by instructors please say so.

Thank you for the suggestion. We have researched this and we are unable to implement. We recommend users activate exams from the links in main page for assessments. This will show the exam name at the top of the page including the module numbers as opposed to using the Assessment Center.

Remove Activations by Instructor
Allow for Activations to be removed when all students have been deactivated. There is no reason to retain the entries that have been replaced.

Modify NETACAD Default Activation
So there is one less setup that has to be performed for a new class, modify the default activation setting for "All" Practice Exams. These exams are for the students to familiarize themselves with course topics by launching the exams "without" the instructor having to activate the these exams for all students. The Practice Exam grades are not a part of the grade computation so they should be activated all term. For those instructors that prefer them not to be activated, let them de-activate them. Please consider. Thank you.
7 votesThank you for your idea. At this time we will not be able to implement your suggestion. The final exams require activation to prevent premature assessment item exposure to students.

Report of student answers to exam questions by # of correct answers / # of total answers by question.
Seeing each question by % correct would make it very easy for instructors to see quickly as to what areas would benefit from additional classroom time or possibly draw attention to questions that aren't worded well

Because the exams, inlcuding the final written exam, is out there...
Alter the exams from the ones readily available on the Internet.
Perhaps create a deep pool of questions and then have enough different seeds so that it would take a long time for a student to lookup the verbatim answer. Thank you for considering this.6 votesArchived ·

CCNAv7 Cisco Module Group exams and Cisco Final Exam - Questions and Answers are already available in the Internet
CCNAv7 was out on 2019/12/10. Today is 2020/1/29. Cisco module group exams and Cisco final exams - most questions and answers are already out in the Internet. For example, CCNA1 - the 400+ Cisco final exam questions and answers are out there already. Very disappointing. Anyone can search the Internet and obtain most of the questions and answers. It is very disappointing when an instructor or an institution wants to use these exams for assessment purposes. Something should be done to protect these exams.

Instructors need to be able to provide feedback.
If I have to download a student's Word file to view it, I should be able to make comments on the file and then upload that as feedback for the student. The only way I see to do this now is to copy and paste the incorrect portion in the comments and then add my own comments to that. If I am missing something I would appreciate some feedback as another instructor on my campus is having the same issue.

Thank you for posting to Share Idea. Instructors can download the word file, add comments, save to computer, and than re-upload to NetAcad for the student. We will keep in mind other ideas and easier ways to do this in the future.
