Integrate Lock-Down browser for NetAcad Exams
During the pandemic I have noticed students completing exams rather quickly and scoring 100% on them. As we know, the answers can be found easily online. Lock Down Browser with WebCam functionality (monitor) allows a recording to be taken while the student is taking the exam, while locking down all their extra monitors and only allows a student to view the exam while it's being taken. I would highly recommend similar function for NetAcad exams. It's the only way to proctor an exam during this time.

Prevent students from sharing PT activity solution files
Someone recently asked me about for ideas on how to prevent students from sharing Packet Tracer activity solutions. Just in case you don't know or remember, I believe the User Profile feature in PT may have been implemented with this in mind.
Here are some suggestions you can try:
Instruct students to edit the User Profile (Options, User Profile) and insert their name and email address and a description of some sort (do not specify). This will allow you to easily identify the author of the assignment via three different fields.
Tell students you will not accept a completed assignment…

Show number of questions for Secure Finals
With the implementation of Secure Finals, instructors are note able to view the number of questions on the final exam. I suggest that we update the viewer for secure finals to show total number of questions. This is helpful when planning how much time is required for the exam, especially for students with disabilities and those using screen readers.

Enable Assignment Uploading Feature
We used to give some assignments to the students either in Wireshark/Packet Tracer etc. The students on completing the same they will be uploading it into the netacad under that particular assignment in the earlier course experience. But now that feature is disabled. Please enable the uploading feature which will help us to collect it in the same platform.

Students have the ability to upload assignments if the instructor allows this. If your students are not able to upload documents, please contact the Support Desk. Please note: When editing your assignments, please ensure the file upload feature is turned on (please see screenshot)

Thank you for the suggestion and additional explanation. We do not have plans at this time to create additional quizzes. Instructors can created their own quizzes in the course by using the quiz tools or even uploading their own files for the students to download.

Go back to the OLD interface
Go back to the OLD interface where you can easily see student attempts, their score and the option to unlock the quiz for them to retake it all on one page.

Proctorio for new experience only
Our school has integrated Proctorio (https://proctorio.com/) . Other schools are doing the same and I'm getting questions about exporting the NetAcad course to allow importing to their own lms so that they can securely monitor online assessments. Proctorio allows the instructor to record the student's desktop, sound and web browsing while locking out new tabs during an assessment. It also allows the student to do a 360 scan of the room before taking the test and prompts the student to close any tabs open. It also allows to disable printing, blocks downloads, disables right clicks and disables screen…

Prevent attempted fraud against submitted PT tasks (assessment)
Prevent attempted fraud against submitted PT tasks (assessment)
Problem: PT tasks can be copied by students and others can submit these tasks as assessment.
Solution: When starting the packet tracer, the user has to log in with his Netacad account.
The Netacad ID is saved in the solved PT task.
The student submit the PT file to the NetAcad system
The Activity Grader compares the student ID of the PT task with the submit account.
If there is a difference, there is an attempt to defraud.1 voteArchived ·

Thank you for the suggestion. We have changed this process for the New Experience we recently implemented for the Exploration courses. We will be moving more courses to the New Experience over the next several months and then the refresh link will no longer be needed.

CCNAv7 Cisco Module Group exams and Cisco Final Exam - Questions and Answers are already available in the Internet
CCNAv7 was out on 2019/12/10. Today is 2020/1/29. Cisco module group exams and Cisco final exams - most questions and answers are already out in the Internet. For example, CCNA1 - the 400+ Cisco final exam questions and answers are out there already. Very disappointing. Anyone can search the Internet and obtain most of the questions and answers. It is very disappointing when an instructor or an institution wants to use these exams for assessment purposes. Something should be done to protect these exams.

Secondary ID is not visible in Grade book.
Sir/Madam,
In the Academy students will have registered numbers as their secondary ID (Ex: 199331A0501, 19331A0502, .... so on). If we get Secondary ID in the grade book, It will be easy for us to manage.1 voteThank you for the suggestion. Currently you can see the secondary ID when you export the gradebook. Unfortunately we will not be able to implement your suggestion at this time.

Thank you for the idea. We are not able to implement at this time. We will archive this suggestion to be able to keep in mind for future releases.
Please note: If you have any issues with conflicting activations, please contact the Support Desk for their help. We also recommend instructors do a bulk deactivate of exams at the end of their course to help with these issues.

Show an incomplete in the gradebook for any student currently taking a assessment.
If a student enrolled in another section after assessments are created, it is required that all of their assessments be deactivated in the 1st course before they can be activated in the new course. A bulk deactivation would be the easy fix, but it jeopardizes students who may be currently taking an assessment. Individually deactivating the students assessments is too cumbersome.

Quiz scores as percents
Graded quiz scores are limited to being displayed as points. Give the instructor the choice to display them as percents. This will greatly reduce the time it takes to convert them from points to percents when exporting the canvas gradbook into the official grade book used by my school (Progress Book).
