I agree, Academy contacts need to be enrolled in the course, in order to be able to see the Gradebook!

Aubrey in my case I was the only qualified instructors at the academy. How is it possible that a course ran with me as the enrolled instructor without my knowledge?

Not sure how this is abuse. This seems a perfectly useful, and in my case essential, role of the NetAcad Contact. Clearly, and as an instructor myself, I communicate with the other 10 or so instructors in our Academy when I do this.
