when somebody is trying to recover their user name or password, they should be able to type in their e-mail address as a way to identify themselves. If they forget their user name, there is no way to recover their password.

Hello,
In order to recover a password, click on the Forgot Password link on the NetSpace login page. From there you can enter your screen name and a new password will be sent to your e-mail address.
If an instructor or student has forgotten their screen name, click Forgot Screen Name and the screen name is recovered by using the e-mail address associated with the account. The screen name will then be e-mailed.
If a student needs their password reset, this can be done from the Course Details page by clicking the Edit button next to the course name on the NetSpace home page. There is a link to Reset Password and also the student’s screen name is given next to the student name.

No existe esa opción, se puede cambiar el correo, pero no resetear el password

If they forget the password, they can click a link to have a new one sent to their e-mail address. The problem is that in some cases (like in our school board) some e-mail sites are blocked by web filters. So they can request the new password, but they can not accesss it until they go home. It is better if the teacher can reset it, like in the old system.
